Got a question for anybody running Powerflex RTABs or similar... I've noticed a creaking from the rear of the car as I enter/exit driveways, etc. It's not my RSM's, and the strut towers look fine. I want to attribute it to the additional NVH added by ditching the rubber pieces, the new ones are squirming around in there or something.

Does that sound reasonable? Anybody have the same noises?

Yes, delrins make noise.

they also really abuse your RTAB mounts, so be sure to inspect them frequently.

You're talking about the bracket that bolts to the frame? Where does it wear them, something you can see on the plate outside, or up inside where the bolt runs thru the middle of the RTAB?

You can't do any worthwhile RTAB inspection without unbolting the thing and looking.

So it's more where those "indentations" hit the side of the bushings, where the bolt runs thru?

Maybe I should check it out Friday when I do my coilover install, since I'll be getting the car aligned anyways? :dunno

The cage can fail, or the bolt holes on the frame can be damaged.

I have TC Kline Delrin RTAB's. When first installed, I could hear the suspension moving (no radio, windows up) as well as hear the brakes working. This evolved into a very loud, very obvious squeek. It turned out TCK shipped the bushings with regular steel washers, which rusted, causing the noise. (I had to have the washers replaced with Stainless Steel ones at my expense, both shop time and alignment. My beef is that TCK had switched over 6 months prior, had assured me I would get squeek free bushings, and shipped the wrong stuff anyway. My shop claims they assumed the washers were the correct ones). Anyway, I digress. After the washers were replaced I now have quiet (but not silent) RTAB's. Hope this helps.

Mine aren't bad, but there's a definite creak, and it's much more noticeable with the backseat out (just pulled it out for the track.
