All I can say is that I am absolutely thrilled with the Kuhmo MXs. At today's auto-x, I had my first experience with them and I beat the number 1 guy in the class who drives a 385hp Z06 with Kuhmo MXs. I was so excited, I thought I had a shot at winning the class when numero uno was there but then I got a bit of a surprise.

Two others who had not run in my class all year jumped in today because they didnt feel like changing their tires. The first guy finished 7th at Nationals in SS and the second guy was testing out his new 350Z. This guy works for Nissan and is a national champ in Pro Solo.

Anyways, I had a great time and these tires kick ass.

Today's results:

1st - 405 Z06 - 54.5 - good god - I heard he had 4 way adjustables but even totally stock he would kick the crap outa me
2nd - 350Z - 55.8 wow - totally stock - only fast 350Z driver there
3rd - 97 M3 - ME!! - 56.6 by far my best run all year
4th - 385 Z06 #1 in class - 56.8 woulda beat me with 5th run if not for 5 cones at the very finish due to a push
5th - 96 M3 - 57.0 always runs very strong

There were 16 entires in the class but the five of us turned in some mean times.

Mahalo Scott,

Do to demand for a specific class, apparently long ago, the TRSCCA came up with OSR. OSR = any modification (no nitrous), street tires and rear wheel drive. Many of the people in this class are 99% stock even though it allows for much more.

I too am mostly stock but would like to do a suspension and R compound for year two. While I am certain that many people think Borbet wheels are crap (who knows they probably are since they are so cheap), I plan on buying a set so I can run 235/40 17s all the way around with V700s. No one runs BSP in my region but many of the good drivers say for fun factor the tire upgrade is nearly unmatched, therefore who cares if there is competition.

The number one guy in OSR is an 18 year veteran of the SCCA, is highly respected in our region and our chief safety steward. It was a real thrill to beat him, though it will be a real fight at every event to do it again.

By the way, I am jealous, I just returned from Wailea back in September and miss it greatly. Only thing I couldn't find on Maui is a good place to drive an M3 but I am sure if I lived there I could find some excitement.

Greg, be thankful for the tracks you have close by. There is a movement to get something going, but we have run into some 'walls'.

In the meantime, we make do. :evil2

I live a couple miles from and work in Wailea a few times a week.

Congratulations Greg!:buttrock

One day, I hope to AutoX on a routine basis.
I tried it once with my car but because the springs and shocks are not properly matched, control was not what it should have been.
We (VAC Motorsports & I) are awaiting the arrival of a set of ProTrac double adjustable shocks for my car, specifically designed for a 740iL with 500 lb/in coilovers.
They should make for some great fun at the wheel.

Once again, WELL DONE

Regards,
