Dear BMW Car Club Members of the LA Chapter,

V-10 - 500 HP - 7 Speed SMG - Cross Drilled Rotors –

Carbon Fiber Roof – Time To Go - Hard on the Gas –

Up Through the Gear Box – Brake – Eyes Up - Look for the Apex –

On the Power – Find the Track Out – You – Go, Go, Go!

The BMW Performance Center has enjoyed great success with driving programs in South Carolina and listened to our participant’s requests for driving programs closer to home.

As a BMW Car Club Member and fellow driving enthusiast we wanted you to be the first to know about a unique opportunity that is coming to California.

California Speedway in Fontana will be our home from October 3rd to 18th. As we embark on this very exciting venture we have developed a brand new program incorporating the most popular elements of our driving school, combining them with an aggressive track component utilizing our M cars on the interior road course. In addition to this exhilarating class our popular car control and teen classes will be offered.

As car club members we wanted to provide you with the opportunity to hear about and enroll in these classes before we take them to the public.

For advanced information please contact the Performance Driving School reservation line at 888-345-4269.

We hope to meet you there!

Happy Motoring,

The Performance Center Driving Team

I got this on the email list I'm on from the L.A. Chapter board. From what I understand, a 1 day school will cost ~$550 and a 2 day school will cost ~$800. You use BMWNA's car, not your own. From what little detail I have, they'll have E90 3 series and Z4s there...There'll be Car Control Clinics and actual track time intermixed, in addition to Teen Car Control Clinics.

The L.A. chapter California Speedway HPDE is on the weekend of October 7th-8th, and BMWNA is actually going to shut down their event for 2 days to accomodate for that. The L.A. chapter even is $595 for 2 days but you use your own car, and that $595 fee includes Car Control Clinic FREE. If you want to sign up for Car Control Clinic only you can also do that, you will be eligible for discounted price at the Saturday Night banquet and for the Raffle Entry if you sign up for the Car Control Clinic only. Banquet is included with the HPDE.

Application for the L.A. Chapter event is available here:

The way we do it is two people per car and maybe 4 or 5 different cars throughtout the day. One tire starts to cord, they take it out and get another.
They encourage you to push it.:buttrock

How much do they charge for that? They (NA) are going to use the California Speedway interior course (not using any part of the NASCAR Ova) but it cost $1,200 a day.

Makes L.A. chapter's $595 for the entire weekend chump change in comparison.

How many sessions do you guys get in the performance school for the one day? BMW NA is not going to hold a HPDE on the big course on the same weekend we're having our HPDE, but I'd still like to have a little comparison. I may have some friends that may be interested in beating the living sh*t out of BMW's cars in addition to doing the CCA school.

The ///M school is different than what we call Club Day.
For our $500 you get to drive different models. The day is divided into skid pad, collision avoidance, autocross. They use a small part of the road course. Later the full couse. There is a rat race where you chase someone on a wet oval.

For $1200, you are using their cars. These are attractive programs for people who don't want to track their cars.

Some more information on the event...

Driving School, Oct 7-8. We will use what the track calls the "Sports Car" track, half the oval and the road course. Classroom sessions and four track sessions with instructor each day. Novices will attend the Car Control Clinic for their last Saturday session. Lunches, Saturday dinner and raffle prizes. CA Speedway is rapidly pricing itself out of our budget. Sign up now while you have the chance. More info and forms at: http://www.bmwclubla.org/club.php

Car Control Clinic, Saturday Oct 7, 8 to 5. Open to anyone 16 or older, with a license, a car and a desire to to improve their driving skills. Cost is $80. An additional $20 gets them into the DS banquet on Saturday night where they will be eligible for whatever raffle prizes we have. Club membership is required but if they live at the same address as an existing CCA member, they can become an associate for a mere $5.00. Curriculum includes classroom sessions, and in-car exercises (with an instructor). Last session of the day will be on the track (must be 18 or older and no convertibles on the track). Perfect chance for drivers to find out if going on to a Driving School appeals to them. Perfect chance to test their car's safety systems and limits in a controlled and safe environment. Perfect chance for a DS student to bring along a spouse/friend/child/parent/sibling and show them what a good time they can have while they are learning to be a better driver.
