View Full Version : DSC light.....?
TFO808 08-06-2006, 01:45 AM :help My DSC light came on, well at least thats what the manual said it is.
It is the light right smack dab in the middle of the two guages, it is a ! within a triangle and an arrow going around it?
Anybody have any idea of what could have cause this?
And what does this light mean?
The light just came on when I started my car this morning.:mad :eyecrazy :help
How do I fix this problem.
Thanks for any information on this situation.

Shane

The Beastmaster 08-06-2006, 02:07 AM It could be your ABS sensor that is going bad, or it could be dirty.
IslandS62 08-06-2006, 04:36 AM Car is going to blow up, sell it to me cheap!

TFO808 08-06-2006, 06:43 AM The "!" is in a triangle and the arrow is around the two.
I think thats a better discription.

99MPower 08-06-2006, 06:49 AM no prob... the light issue... i would check the abs sensor as bryan said... have you put the code reader to it yet?
TFO808 08-06-2006, 06:52 AM Nope not yet, don't have access to one right now. Do you know anyone with a code reader.
Brian was the last guy that read it for me but he left for the mainland.
Does anyone have a code reader that they can hook a brother up with?
I am super disperate to find out what the fudge is wrong with my car.
Thanks!

IslandS62 08-06-2006, 07:04 AM the light means that your traction control is off and not operating, so be careful on slick roads (like tonight) until you can get it checked. Its' probably a faulty wheel or ABS sensor. You need to figure out which sensor it is and replace it. For a shop I'd plan to spend $350 or so.

Peake code reader can't read the ABS codes.
mauka 08-06-2006, 03:56 PM How long after the new/old rims and new tires install did the light come on?
Is there a difference in overall diameter between front and rear wheels? Almost all of the speed sensor codes I've seen were caused by frayed wire(s) in one of the sensors. You could do a visual inspection on the wiring from the sensors to the connectors - make sure you check under the wire loom!
mz.368 08-07-2006, 12:14 PM In my experience the DSC light is accompanied by the ABS light when it is a bad wheel/ABS sensor issue. I also wouldn't think it would be related to different/new tire sizes if the light came on before the car was in motion. Maybe something got knocked loose when installing the wheels :dunno
TFO808 08-08-2006, 02:07 AM I think it does have to do with the tires. I neglected to mention that the light went on after I drove about 10 ft. with two very warn out Kumhos on the front.
I have bought brand new Falkens since. But the light is still on.
Thanks for all the info guys!
I think Iam gonna try and disconnect the battery. See if that helps!
I fill you guys in with the results!

TFO:buttrockWhat are the tire sizes?
TFO808 08-08-2006, 05:21 AM The worn out Kumhos MX I had on there were 225/45/17. The Falkens are the same size but for some reason they are a little smaller looking.
Again I'm gonna try and unhook the battery for 15 minutes and hope that the computer resets its self. I heard that someone tried this and it worked. So I have my fingers crossed.

Did you try reseting the low tire air pressure warning? Like what the others said, it may be the different diameter size with the new wheels and tires. My E90 has a setting on the left stalk to resynching the tire-air pressure/diameter setting; it may be in the owner's manual.

make sure you have the radio code :) definately sounds like a tire or sensor issue if it came on after driving 10 feet...good luck
TFO808 08-09-2006, 05:13 AM I have an aftermarket deck so I don't think I need the radio code.
Is this correct?
Thanks guys for the Info and Help!

It depends, some newer aftermarket ones even have codes, I would double check the owners manual to be safe, first.
