Let me commend you guys for a great event this past weekend. The course was great! Even though I drive a torqueless car it was still great! <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
I should really pay the membership fee soon. Save me that 10 bucks.

The steering is slow enough to take serious getting used to, esp if you're coming from an e36+.

The no sitting rule was being enforced by the same person who announced "Please make sure your passenger keeps their hands inside the car at all times" (see photo 1 at the top of the page). :rolleyes

The extra weight of the hitch ball threw my car out of balance. Errr... yeah.. that's it. :paranoid:

On another note, does anyone know who drove the the Black Audi A3 to the event?

I would like to extend my discust in respect to that person's behavior. Flooring it out of the parking lot and onto the road is not acceptable. The driver of the car in question is not welcome back to any BMW events. To top it all off, this happed after I specifically made it clear to everyone that speeding down the main drive would not be tolerated by us, and never has been. Save the hard charging for coming out of the start gate. We enjoy running a very relaxed event, and don't want that to change, but if we have to continually babysit people.... [/soapbox]

Well, it's fun, but may not be the fastest way for me to be driving. The snap oversteer issue we dealt with is gone with the new rtabs, but I'm open to suggestions as to how to tone it down a bit.

Less bar? Less spring?

We should trade cars at an event this fall and see what the differences are like.

Can't go with any less bar on the rear unless I can legally remove it. And Bimmerworld owes me a set of springs, so my thought was to try a softer rear.

What don't I know about the rear suspension that wouldn't allow you to remove the bar?

I guess it's more what I don't know about ST rules. :)

EDIT: is that illegal lightening?

EDIT EDIT: maybe I should read the rulebook??

Leave the bar, just get the softer springs. I think you are running the same spring rate I am.

hoyabmw

I don't know about your car, but removing the rear bar from mine was just unhappy--the rear wasn't controlled and was bouncing the inside tire. I put it back on, and you saw what happened :) I was still oversteering, but the tires made it controllable.

I'm still looking for a smaller bar (I've got the ST 19 mm)--possibly an E30 M3/Mtech 14.5 mm bar--to quell some of my oversteer.

Unfortunately, a properly set up E30 is going to be tail happy due to the suspension geometry, and street tires don't help (even azenis aren't the best) I'm looking at bigger tires for more grip, assuming SCCA doesn't kill the car by moving it next year <grrr>

And we still might beat results.
