i dont know about MD but here in PA i know of a few shops where you can just purchase the stickers no inspection needed

Not sure of the percentage but yes, any tint needs to be stickered to pass.
It's a quick process at a full service Motor Vehicles.

My impression was that any inspection shop is supposed to fail a car with tint until you go to your local MVA and have the trooper measure the tint. Once you get the 35% approval sticker for the tint, it's good to pass.

So I guess the only way people with an obviously-illegal tint pass is by having "connections" in the biz, eh?

Thats usually how it works....and for lots of other stuff as well.

WHat even is the legal limit in pa??? im looking to get 25%.... and if i need to go buy a sticker, does it need to say 35%? And when you buy the sticker, do they actually check your tint to verify its 35 or up?

Unlike VA where you have a safety inspection every year, in MD you only get your car inspected once when you buy it. Once the car passes inspection you can put tint on it and not have to worry about passing inspection again.
