Mr.M 08-06-2006, 01:55 PM I just did mine yesterday by pulling my wheel off and taking a hammer to the inside lip. It worked just as well as paying someone $100 or whatever. Took me less time to do it than it will take you to drive to a shop :stickoutt JM3 08-06-2006, 02:26 PM I just did mine yesterday by pulling my wheel off and taking a hammer to the inside lip. You literally just tap the lip with a hammer until its flat. nibratch 08-09-2006, 12:53 AM TC design in milpitas...guy charged me forty bucks and did very nice job JM3 08-09-2006, 02:31 AM I can't imagine anyone screwing up that one though. You literally just tap the lip with a hammer until its flat. id rather not fuck up my paint. 100$ is a small price to pay Termist 08-09-2006, 02:33 AM I've probably fender rolled about 15 cars. The best way to do it yourself is to use a heavy rubber mallet and a heat gun. I also had an Eastwood fender roller, but I prefer the mallet over the fender roller. I don't do it anymore though. OdyM3 08-09-2006, 02:44 AM fender roller > mallet LWRNCE 08-09-2006, 02:50 AM You can rent the tool and then just do it yourself. You can keep going and going and going lol. randytt 08-09-2006, 03:58 AM baseball bat works too bb0ytom 08-09-2006, 05:21 AM whatever you do, dont get it down at california wheels on alum rock. they charged me 60$ each fender. i only got the 2 rears done, but they did a crappy job the first time with only using and a hammer and some kind of block. i then came back complaining that i was still rubbing and they finally used the eastwood fender rolling too. the guy fcked up my paint on the rear right fender, the paint was all scratched up. they also made me sign a waiver to disclaim all damages before the roll was done. all in all, i should have went to another shop or rented the tool myself and done it. i bet i would have done a much cleaner job. OdyM3 08-09-2006, 05:24 AM whatever you do, dont get it down at california wheels on alum rock. Terrible story. No self respecting shop would screw around with a simple fender roll this way. I say simple, but simple in what it takes - however it is not simple in it takes someone who knows how do it right. There's a little art in the practice. pelos 08-23-2006, 09:10 PM how much do they charge? Just got mine done today at Valley Motorworks. Not anymore:) RCsSilver 08-23-2006, 09:15 PM i saw a buddy of mine do it, it didnt seam that hard just rent the tool and use a heat gun and take your time |
