OK, I was hoping I'd found the abandoned 320iS I'd been lookin for (for LSD, 5-speed), but unfortunately the guy had just been off island for a week or so. I had his plates ran, found his address, and now have his phone number. Just talked to him.
He said he recently spent like $1K to put a new engine in it, but now the fuel pump is bad. Mechanic said they weren't sure if it was the one in the tank or up front (CIS has two pumps?).
He said he'd be sellin it soon for like $600, but make him an offer.
It's an 82, a dull beige color, with a horrible bondo job on the rear end. Recaro seats look busted up.
For an 02 guy, it'd be great to grab the 5-speed, the 3.91 LSD, and maybe even the M10 block if its that good. Not sure whether theres any 320i guys left that might want it for parts or to drive.
It's prolly gonna go up on craigslist soon, but PM for the guy's phone number if you want to jump first.
For me, I'm gonna be likely headin for the mainland at the end of the month, and can't really make time to swap the 5-speed and LSD in my car. I'd only give like $150 for the LSD.
If he can't find somebody to take it off his hands before he leaves, I want first dibs on the LSD iff'n I'm still around. .:buttrock
