OK, so this is my first post and first Bimmer. I'm taking delivery of my 2006 330xi this Friday. It's pretty much loaded. I had an Audi A4 since 2000. I've used caruba wax with mixed results. I'm looking for the product that looks best with the least amount of work and time. I know, those are conflicting parameters... Your suggestions please.

www.detailedimage.com get some menzerna fmj sealant. It will last about 2 months, comes off like hot butter and produces an amazing shine. If you want to top with a wax get some s100 from your local harley dealership.OK, so this is my first post and first Bimmer. I'm taking delivery of my 2006 330xi this Friday. It's pretty much loaded. Malm's or Griot's Garage.
Pops' has been using the Malm's caranuba and polish on his bimmers for 2 decades. We haven't found anything that works better. The griot's stuff is close though.

Congrats on the car. I got my 330i two weeks ago, you'll love it.

As for product; with any wax you'll have to apply it often... well, more often then a synthetic sealant. I just order some Zaino products; a lot of the guys on e90post swear by it, so I figured I would give it a shot. Not expensive at all... and supposed to last up to 6 months. Also, if you want the depth of the caranuba, you can apply that over the Zaino.

Haha.. I think 30 minutes is a bit optimistic; but either way it'll be fun.
I got there and took my car out for a test drive, then it took about 30 minutes to go through everything with the F&I manager. Once he was done, my CA wanted to show me everything and anything about the car. 1.5 hours later, I was tearing out of the lot.

Oh, yeah, I forgot.

It's not good to wax a new car. That'll seal the paint and usually it needs to cure for a few months, check around on how long.
3m Hand Glaze works on new paint.

www.autogeek.net/3mimhanglaz.html (http://www.autogeek.net/3mimhanglaz.html) This site says 30 days.

And changing all the oils (engine, manual tranny, and diff) at about 1.2k is a smart idea.

Thanks all. I hope the dealer doesn't wax the hell out of it in the pre-delivery prep. Thanks for the tip on 30 days. I probably wouldn't have waxed it before then anyway, but now I definitely won't. I have used 3M Hand Glaze. It certainly brings a good luster w/o too much effort and unfortunately no protection. So, I'll expect more of an 90 minute delivery ordeal, then I'll tear up the pavement!

Your car is coming baked from the factory. I would suggest that you clay the car to remove rail dust and go over it with a light polish before sealing it. Send an aol im message to DetailedImage4u ..he will take care of you. Tell him mike with the black e36 sent yaThanks all. I hope the dealer doesn't wax the hell out of it in the pre-delivery prep. I used Zaino Brothers on my '02 S4 and was extremely happy. I live in Arizona where 115 degree Summer days are common. Very easy to use as well.
