Just wondering for all you 18 inch wheel owners what kind of tires you wrap around your wheels. Gimme your size (front & back) and brand of your tires.

I'm planning on getting 235-40-18 (front) & 245-40-18 (rear). I'm planning on getting the Pole Position SO-3 with the UNI-TAQ Tech. Anyone disagree on this tire? I heard they are REALLY good with cornering and the tread wear is a lot better than the SO-2 (the SO-2 I burned up pretty fast).

Thanks!
Alan

I am currently running on 225/35/18 BFGoodrich g-force 3's. I can't vouch for their superiority over the other brands like the S0'3 or the Potenzas because I have never driven with those. My previous tires were Dunlops W-10's and they were alright but not good during wet driving. Long story, but I used to have 17s with 235/40/17 and my car was a lot faster. With the 18s, my car feels a little sluggish. Oh, I drive an M3 with BBS RC's at this time.
Hope that helps.:)

I used the S02 before and it did wear fast. I heard the S-03 is better. right now, i'm using 225/40/18 Yokohama AVS Sport. pretty good tires and cheaper than S-03. you won't go wrong with either one of them.

You should go with 225/40/18 and 245/35/18 combo. It's closest to stock size.

I'm running 225/40/18 up front and 255/35/18 in the rear. Unfortunately, with my current suspension setup with the H&R race springs, I had a problem with rubbage in the rears. I went ahead and got the fenders shaved. The rims are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sports. Honestly, I'm not too impressed by them. Sometimes taking a corner tight, I get some slippage and do not feel very confident with hard cornering. I've heard nothing but good things about the S-03's. If I need new tyres, that's what I'm trying next.

You should run non-staggered if you know how to handle a car that's balanced. That is, if you have the skills to handle an automobile that is more neutrally balanced than what comes from the factory.

But, WTF do I know, I run 17" wheels.

I have 18x8.5's all around with 245/35/18 P-Zeroes Assimetricos. Don't go with these tires cuz the tread life sucks cock.

225/40/18 fronts and 245/35/18 rears. Pirelli P-Zero Asmmetrico. Good tires. Noisy and sticky on dry pavement (good for summer, bad when wet!). Stock suspension. 18X8 fronts BBS RC forged and 18X9 rears. Good luck.

I have 255/35-18 S03s all around, on 18x8.5" wheels with 38mm offset. Only have about 2K on them and haven't really had a chance to put them to the test yet. They feel very grippy compared to my previous, Pirelli P7000SS.

If you're going with 245s in the rear, you should do the 35 series. You may have some inside clearance problems with the 235s up front. The S03s are very wide for a 235. You might have to use a 5mm spacer. Depends on the offset of your wheels.

I am running 225/40/18 all around on my LMs.
My buddy is running 225/40/18 in the front nad 255/35/18 in the rear with his RCJ rims.
We both are running SO3s and wouldn't get a different tire.

what does a 38 mm offset mean?....isn't the offset the width of the rim?

Offset is the distance between the centerline of the wheel and the mounting surface. It affects how far inward or outward the wheel is relative to the struts/springs and fender edge.
