Sorry Doc, I don't have any pics, but when we were ordering our Coupe, the salesman showed us two Roadsters, one with extended leather, one without.

Maybe someone else will chime and correct me if I'm wrong, but the only difference that we could see with the extended leather was that the entire door panels were leather as opposed to just the armrests. We opted to save the $1750 difference.

i beleive that in the roadsters it also coverd the roll hoops...all in all not worth it in my opinion.

Thanks for the info guys, I was hoping for the dash to be covered too. Doors sounds nice but I would really like the dash to be as well. Im not a big fan of the rough texture on the dash of the Z4's

my door with extended leather, the A pillar and window frame is also covered in leather.

On the M, the roll bar and center tunnel is also in leather

I was just told the dash is also wrapped in leather by a BMW salesman. He hasn't told me anything incorrect so far but...

As well as the A pillar.

Extended leather in the roadster covers more area than the extended leather in the coupe. The A pillars are not covered in leather in the extended version on the coupe.

I will spec an M Coupe soon when allotment comes. I still have unanswered questions about extended leather. I too would like images or very detailed descriptions.

According to the M Coupe & Roadster brochure I just picked up at the dealership on Friday, the only thing the Roadster gets that the coupe does not with extended leather is the rollover hoops (which are absent on the coupe). Ofcourse, the BMW brochure could be wrong :-).

Roland (Interlagos/Black Extended/Carbon coupe just built - waiting for delivery).

I have my fingers crossed for a leather covered dash on the Z4 M Coupe. If this is true and someone out there can double confirm it and even with pics would be great!

I looked at an Interlagos Blue M Roadster with extended leather on Friday - no leather dash. The salesman stated that they don't do the dashboard anymore due to drying/cracking/shrinking. Sorry.

Well thats just Fu*ked lol, I dont see Porsche having a problem with their dashes as they are still doing them in their new models.

Is it just me that doesnt like the look for the Z4's Dash texture? to me it looks rough, dry and sometimes patchy (Parts look different to other parts)

Maybe its just me??

I think when you order an MCoupe/Roadster with the carbon leather trim it replaced the big hunk of aluminum with carbon leather. Perhaps this is where the confusion of the leather dash comes from. I bet the ext leather option is simply the a-pillars, doors, and a few other things but not actually the dash. I've been wrong before...

I agree - I would characterize the subject justification as "salesman spin"...but the fact remains, you don't get the top of the dash covered in leather - I'd suggest it is due to cost cutting...but, then again, there are those of us that would pay for it if it were offered for a fee.

Yes- when you order Carbon Leather - it covers the vertical face of the dash where you'd otherwise have either wood or aluminum -but the top of the dash (horizontal surface) is still the textured plastic.
The extended leather is as you suggest: remainder of doors in addition to the leather door panel that is on the base setup), centre console sides all the way up between the seats), a-pillars and visors.

It's a cost issue I would say. The M6 will be available with leather dash, so I can't see how BMW thinks it would be a problem for one car and not the other.

Correct. But remember that you're in Australia (Or is it New New York?) and the options can differ there. Most peopel on this forum are American.

I'm in Seattle (USA) - but you are correct, they offer different options and packages in different parts of the world (the UK website shows some additional colors too - or I guess they are actually different "colours").

Here are a couple of photos of an M Coupe with extended leather. They're thumbnailed, click for the larger image. According to the brochure, the door panels, sides of the center console, visors, and window pillar tops are in leather.
