Just picked up my new 650i coupe and notice that the Parking lights(?) (next to the big halogens) are always on while driving. Is this normal or is there a way to turn them off?

Thabks for the help. Bill

It would seem your dealer has set active your running lights capability. You can check this by locating your light dial and putting the dial in the off position 12/6 o'clock. If your parking [running lights] are still on, you qualify for the active [dealer programmable] running lights option.

If these lights turn off, the above is no longer true.

Welcome to the 6 Series Family and good luck with your ride.

P.S. Pics please...

Thanks for the response. I just figured out how to turn them off, using the "I-Drive". In the "Vehicle Settings" menu there's a sub-menu allowing the daytime lights to be disabled.

I guess you have to be a computer whiz these days, instead of just a motorhead!

I do appreciate your help though. No pix yet - how would I post them?

Car is Black Sapphire Metallic w/cream leather/dark wood.

My 650i does not have that option via iDrive. Good to know the next time I go in for service.

Posting pics is fairly simple... Scroll down before clicking submit. You will see the option to manage attachments.

Good luck

Sorry, I spoke too soon. It was a friend's 645 I was playing with.

You're correct - my 650 doesn't list this option in the Lighting menu. I called the Dealer and was told that BMW took it off of the 650's and "gave it back" to the Dealer.

I'll bring it in in the next few days. No charge.

Thanks again.
