Just wondering if anyone out there would provide some market intel on what dealers are willing to do on the new M Coupes.

Feedback on other boards suggest that even though there aren't that many M Coupes out there, the ones that are available are sitting on dealer lots.

Not sure if anyone has shopped around alot. The beauty is you can buy it from any dealer in the country and take delivery at the performance center !

Pricing will vary wildly from region to region. East coast dealers seems to have trouble moving their cars.

I'm in the market in So. Cal. so I've looked at a couple of dealerships, Crevier in Santa Ana has two that's been sitting on the lot for a while, when Southbay has already moved 3 through their dealership and each one sat for less than a week. It all depends on how greedy each dealership is, if they're charging a big mark-up expect them to sit, because the market for this car is all enthusiasts who do their research.

Also, keep in mind that purchase price does not necessarily reflect true cost. I was able to negotiate a deal for $2,000 off but the stealer back-loaded the lease so heavily, it's more like a $3,000 mark-up.

I've managed to get my salesman to take off 2000, however still debating if I want to order one or not

No, say if the dealership's buy rate into the lease is a .0024 money factor, they'll "charge" you the lease with a .0031 money factor, in essence the difference between a 5.7% financing rate and a 7.4% financing rate.

Some banks can kick back as much as $1,000 per point higher rate. Most people don't ask about money factors and automatically assume the rates dealerships give them is the best rate they qualify for. The difference in money factor may seem small, but extrapolated to financing rates, it's a huge difference.

They'll gladly discount a few grand off the car knowing that they'll make all that back when the bank pays them.

I just simply talked to the sales guy that I purchased the M3 from back in 2002, he said he'll drop $2000 off as he knows me :)

However I'm not buying till next july/august as I'm still debating on my next car, M3 is pending sale within the next few weeks....

When I seriously start shopping I plan to call all around the country for the best deal and just take delivery at the BMW Performance Center.

If I can just stop looking at Lotus's I can focus on the M Coupe.

Crevier is a bunch of a-holes. They did a total bait-n-switch on me when I was trying to get a 645 and I was so pissed I ran out and got a E55 that very night.

Irvine BMW has my M-Coupe coming into the dealership in late August or early September (crossing fingers). I ordered it in May before it could actually be ordered (or so I was told). They're letting me have it for $500 under MSRP which I'm fine with.

You are the SOB (sorry, I meant that with all the affection I can muster) that has MY allocation! :D

I got my Interlagos Blue MZ4 Coupe coming in sometime in the "future" to Irvine BMW as well. Supposedly our two allocations were twins, they were suppose to go into production at nearly the same time (they were allocated to the same week). For some odd reason mine got pushed back from a week 26 build to a week 33, and now they can't even give me a confirmed production week at all. :mad

Who did you work with? I need to talk to my buddy that I referred at least 3 sales to. They wouldn't budge on my MSRP price.

Ben Karim and the buying experience has been less than entertaining. I almost went with the interlagos blue but decided that I wanted that imola red interior in a big and bad way. Only worked w/ a grey, black, or silver car so...

Let me know when you get your car. I work in Aliso Viejo, maybe when my car arrives we can get together to compare notes. :D

Color combination would have been my second choice, very nice...If you want a easier time at Irvine, ask for Philippe Khan when your car arrives, tell him you know "The HACK" and ask him to take care of you. He's in the finance department now but he used to be their Internet Sales Manager, I've helped him close several very hard to sell cars...Not the typical car salesman.

I gave my word to the dealer I would not disclose my deal but here is a hint: be aggressive, it works. Call them with a number and a car in mind and tell them you are ready to buy at that price. The M Coupe is not experiencing a super warm reception from the general public and you can take advantage of that.

Don't forget taxes.

I decided against the M Coupe, just like any other car it'sll have lost some value by next year, so I'm going to focus on something else maybe two or three years old with warranty still intact.
