I'm pretty sure they were 17s. Most guys want to keep their wheels light when they track their car, and keep the rotational inertia as close to the hub as possible - 17s have just about as much lateral stability as 18s do, so they usually go that route.
cbouchez 07-24-2006, 12:26 AM 17's
SeattleBMW325i 07-24-2006, 02:01 AM the red e36 was...interesting... i swear i saw it on craigslist a while back with a red VIS CF hood,
EDIT: i'll post pics when i have time(This part had nothing to do with the red e36)

Yeah, I HAD to take pictures of it. Lots of custom work... I believe it is an actual M3 however. I would have taken more detailed pics... but.. I ..just ..didn't want...to..... :dunno
;)

SeattleBMW325i 07-24-2006, 03:25 AM that yellow e30 was also odd. i may have been the only one to notice it... since all of you have e36's. but the one with the e36 m3 front bumper that didn't fit on right. did anyone notice what engine that was? it said 3.2/3.5 on it, but thats all i saw, and the ugly quad exhaust
this one

Yeah, I took about 10 seconds look at that car and kept walking. It's cool that he is attempting to do some original mods, but the E36 bumpe on that car doesn't fit the body lines... and of course it is tilted forward and doesn't line up with the nose. Not diggin it. :dunno
I think he had to run that much negative camber just to get those wheels to tuck in the rear!
SeattleBMW325i 07-24-2006, 03:44 AM what's really sad about that is that you can buy an m3 replica front bumper for the e30, and it fits well, and looks exactly like the m3 bumper, they actually even looks decent
BlackChrome 07-24-2006, 03:47 AM That'd be a lot of pics! Nice, thanks Mike!
You are welcome. He sure does have a lot of pics. :)

if you would have taken a little bit longer to get past the outside, you would have noticed the big 6 stuffed under the hood with a turbo attached ;)

I walked around the car to give it a full look. I didn't like the bumper or the wheels, and the interior looked pretty plain. Hood wasn't open. :dunno
If I would have seen the turbo I6 I would have
Your car was looking Hot as usual BTW. ;) Too bad my battery died as I was talking the pics of the black E30 M3 with the red stripes... :(
DTM325PWR 07-24-2006, 07:08 AM tha red 8 series is a dinan turbo car wasnt it?
cramer 07-24-2006, 12:16 PM yeah it was a Dinan twin turbo:

No, here was there all day. You had to be there by 11am to participate in the judging; that picture was actually of him in line with all the final cars that won. He won his category for the nicest car. That car was unbelievably clean too... original paint. I've never seen bright red so reflective before!

That girl/woman was apparently one of the judges or was helping out.

was he with the e30's? i have pics of all of them, and all i got is a red m3 that says 579-rch on the back, and a red non-m e30

Yeah if you go to the pics that Mike (BlackChrome) linked to, he is about half way down the page. There is like 10 pictures of him sitting there with the other E30s. I think he was sitting right next to Topless...
SeattleBMW325i 07-25-2006, 04:57 AM is topless the red vert? i would assume so, if it is, then the one next to it had 579-rch, at least on the back

Nice guy too.

Huh, wonder why? :rolleyes ;)
Oldest known E30 M3 in existance in the States...and with that one of only 150 of that color ever imported into the States... immaculate original paint... cleaner than a brand new 7 Series...only 70k miles (that's like 3000 miles a YEAR)...he even has every service record since the original owner 20 years ago. His car is a friggin anomoly of car nature! It's rediculousy sick how cool that car is. Un-friggin-believable.
He is a nice guy too. Totally talks to anyone and everyone about his car.

-Christian the car looks sick, has come a long way since HIN 2005. My car is starting to move now too...lots of parts in the garage but I leave in 4 days for the Mediterranean for 6 months. Will have fun when I get home.

Photobucket.com....n00b. :D
You can select how many pics you can upload at the same time. Then you just browse for them (if they are in the same folder it's very easy). Then you upload them all at once.
Mine are on my own server, but I usually use PB for everything else.

Maybe it just takes a long time. I'll load 15-20 pictures at a time and it works great! If I do that many pictures and I took the pictures at 3Mpxl then it can take a few minutes, but other than that it works awesome.

there's my problem, all my pictures are at 8mp
EEEEeeee36 07-30-2006, 07:55 PM there's my problem, all my pictures are at 8mp
AAaahhh...that's why. You know, the pictures will come out just as good at 1Mp as they will at 8Mp...you just won't be able to blow them up and make a poster out of them!
Photobucket (and most picture hosting sites) will reduce the size of your picture down to 512k. When you've got pictures that are 5 or 6MBs, it will take a while to compress and upload all of those pictures, depending on your upload bandwidth. Take pictures at 3Mp from now on, unless there is a special shot you want to make into a poster. Even at 3Mp, you can print off a picture on a 11x15 poster and it will sill be clearer than a film picture could ever be. I take my pictures at 1Mp and that is plenty big... If it's a real memorable occasion, or it's something I know I may want to make a poster or large print of I'll switch. My camera is a 5Mp, but I don't think I've used that setting since I bought it...too much PITA (like you are experiencing).
The pictures I took at Concours were 3Mp, and they still won't fit in a browser window! Case in point:
http://www.bb-aw.com/Councours%20d'Elegance%202006%20011.jpg
After the browser opens and the picture is fully loaded, go to the bottom right hand corner and use the 'Expand' button to fully open the picture. You can't even see 1/4 of the picture at a time in the browser window.
Trust me, you'll get just as good pictures with 2 or 3Mpxl and you won't have any of the headaches!!
todor 08-01-2006, 03:31 AM nice pics everyone!
lookin' at those 8-series got me thinkin - BMW should make an M8... that would be sick - with a V12 M engine... they could probably get around 700hp out of such an engine if they were to build it now.

Hmmm, I can't figure for the life of me why Carrie no longer posts on this forum. You guys need to remember that the people that can help you the most here locally, are pretty much all older than you. Show some respect and make sure you aren't on the BMWCCA forum asking for help, I'd guess she'd laugh at the thought of helping you now. She's a very nice person, and has a pretty kick ass bike.
