The car is 1984 633 with the automatic transmission.

I have recently purchased car and it is on the virge of road ready. As is so often the case, it was not as easy as I hoped.

I noticed this flashing in the dash on the way home, from the purchase and have since replaced the head gasket and ignition switch.

I want to drive the car about 400 miles and would like to know what this flashing trinagle is telling me before I do that.

Whatcha think?

The flashing triangle is a warning indicator light. Whenever it comes on, you should find that a little red light comes on in the check panel display to the left of the steering wheel. Whatever light is on indicates what the problem is. To make the flashing on the instrument panel go away, push the check button in the bottom center. You may find that this triangle light comes on everytime you start the car and that the corresponding light is saying that you have a brake light issue. Both of my 80's BMW's have done this. Don't know why is does that, but both the flashing triangle and the brake check light on the check panel will go away as soon as you press the brake pedal. Go figure.
