I was going to ask about these on Mark633CSi's thread that was just posted, but I thought I'd make my own to ask.
I've seen a ton of clear lenses, and they look beautiful, but has anyone ever seen the black ones used?

I've never seen there on a car. I will probably be painting my car black someday, and these could either look good, or they could ruin the looks of the front of the car.
It probably doesn't light up very good though.

Anyone have pics of these on a car?

I just made my own...and they're awesome. With amber bulbs it works great.

I guess its just a matter of taste. MTS makes them but to me its way too dark. From distance, it looks like the car doesnt have turn signals and hidden inside the black grill and looks like E30 somehow and looks dirty. I dont like it but if only its brighter it'll look great. I guess use clear signal and paint them like 1 or 2 coats.

I don't have any with the bulb on, sorry. I'll give you some background...my lenses were sun baked to the point of almost being clear. I applied tamiya smoke to the inside, clear to the outside, and put in an 1137A amber bulb and they're just as bright and light up orange. They're great, but need another coat of smoke.

That's pretty clean looking. I think I like it. Black grill, black center, black turn signals. I'd like to see it on a black car. I may just have to build it myself!
You did a good job though, it doesn't look home-made.

Thanks. If I had to do it again, i'd use the smoke for polycarbonate, its a PS number instead of a TS. The TS is for plastics and looks a bit more brown.

Oh yeah..and just get a big can of clear spray paint from walmart, the tamiya stuff is $$$.
