TIA! autox320 07-22-2006, 01:59 AM plastic? maybe on E36 or newer Just use a metal Graf stock pump. If you want to get fancy buy one for the E30 318i M10 without the 90deg internal bend. Madhatter 07-22-2006, 09:59 AM metal. plastic = breaks and floats through the system. greggearhead 07-22-2006, 10:09 AM On VWs, cast metal is better than stamped steel or plastic. Plastic ones have been known to slip on the shaft, making an overheating issue that is really hard to track down. Forged328 07-22-2006, 11:16 AM Metal FTW. My car was overheating because the stock impeller broke off and was just floating around and not circulating the coolant. kdanielson 07-22-2006, 05:01 PM Definatly metal but be carefull, there are two types out there... stamped steel and cast. Cast is what you want, my '82 had a stamped steel impeller and when I replaced it I could not believe how crudded up/corroded it was. ken brock73 07-25-2006, 04:41 AM Yep thats right. Cast ones last. i have seen plate steal impellas that look like ninja stars. And it dont take long for it to happen peperry 07-26-2006, 11:19 AM plastic? maybe on E36 or newer Just use a metal Graf stock pump.
