I just got my 2003 M3 and need to replace the lower trim piece on the steering wheel because it is all scratched up. It appears you need to remove the airbag to do it. I have a write up on it from my stereo friend that says to push a screw driver in through the holes on the back side. Press down on a lever and pull on the airbag. Do this on both sides and it should come off. However, I can't find this "switch" when I try it and can not get it off. Has anyone done this? Or replaced the lower trim piece on their steering wheel?
