The BMW Business head unit has the pin system.
What are the possibilities to connect an aftermarket amplifier?

1) must i buy a pin to rca adaptor and plug it in the amps rca in, or could i wire from head units rear speaker pins to amps high level inputs? will the "high level system" work, and if there will be any significant sound quality loss?

2) I have the cd changer and im satisfied with the OEM head unit setup, with the controls on the steering wheel, so im not looking for an aftermarket head unit. Or should i? are there any head units that would allow to keep the steering wheel controls? and i dont mean the alpine cd-changer solution. head unit only.

thank you

Search. This EXACT question is asked 5 times a day.

There are steering wheel adaptors for aftermarket decks. Again. Search.

Only takes 5 minutes to find the answers.

did the search, but i woudnt say it was an easy one, had to use 7 different keywords fo find some answers and took an hour to browse through

from what ive learned, if u want decent sound quality with aftermarket amps, want to keep the steering controls, THEN bin the OEM business stereo, get an aftermarket head unit, get the infrared steering wheel to head unit adaptor (mp3car.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=150) and then plug the amp to the aftermarket units SUB OUT. keeping the BMW Business unit is not worth it (complexivity of the connection, no mp3, not so great sound quality, no amp line out).

If my car had an factory amp, it wouldnt be a problem, but my car DOES NOT HAVE it

well, these are my thoughts, what do u think?

and i dont mind having aftermarket head unit in dash (some ppl are clynical about the OEM looks)

So? This attitude never ceases to amaze me. It's like going to the library and being mad that the librarian doesn't also read the book FOR you and write the paper.

I know many EU cars lack the US amp setup. What year 7 do you have?

No, its like if i go to a library, ask for a book, but the librarian tells me to find it myself, just because his girlfriend dodnt give him last night. ok, im partially guilty, but it wasnt like there were 5 topics a day for the same question.

I browsed the whole audio/electronics forum, before i made my first post-didnt find the answer. the threads were mostly about CD changers, and some solutions for systems with the original amp, wich i dont have.
well it seems that my head unit doesnt have the possibility to connect the amp not loosing the quality.
