The stealership can do it for you if you ask nicely.

Ha ha ha ha I like that word "stealership". Did they do it for you?

or you could just put on your seatbelt. That works, too.

yeah wear your seatbelt... its the law around here anyway.

problems like this usually get solved when said non-seatbelt wearer flies through the windshield and then no longer complains.

Wearing it or not wearing it is irrelevant. The car should remind you once that you don't have it on, then STFU.

get an extra buckle from like auto zone or something and stick it in there

it should remind you until you comply with the law

the purpose isn't to tell you ... hey u dont have your seatbelt on, it's to tell you... what are you doing put it on, no really we mean put it on, ok we're not going to stop until you do.

So you'd have no problem with an engine governor that limits your top speed to 65?

Does anybody know how to disable to Seat belt alert, I wear it somtimes but the times I dont I really hate that annoying sound...Ding...Ding...Ding... ugh!!!! if you get into a fender bender with the seatbelt off its going to cost you a fortune.... it fires all the bags on that side without the seatbelt on but only fires the belt tensioner in a minor accident with it on. its trying to do its best to protect you anyways whether you want it to or not.

I like how burrito just STFU, like the stupid seat belt chime should do, and burritos that drive 45mph to stay home.

The stealership can do it for you if you ask nicely. No, the dealership can't. Even if it was possible, they're not going to assume liability for bypassing a safety device.

No argument, the chime can be annoying when cruising from one parking spot to another in a big lot or when you're just moving your car a short distance.
Also, no one really wants a governor at the posted state speed limit. There is absolutely no argument when it comes to the facts, the seatbelt is integral in preventing injury to you and your passengers (even the airbag deployment can injure unbelted passengers, and indeed, without your belt on, your safety system tries to compensate and can cost big $$$ in airbag parts).

Further, anyone who drives with their seatbelt off is a stupid person, and when they crash and are more severely injured than their seatbelted counterparts in similar accidents it is called something else -- survival of the fittest.

Keep your loud-mouth and arrogant comments to yourself beantowner.

Hey!

You say beantowner like it's a BAD thing!! I happen to live just north of Boston... well... about 45 minutes north... in a different state...
BUT... close enough to feel a little offended...

Well... maybe not too offended.... in fact,... most people that drive in Mass are complete nut-jobs... and crazy,... and VERY inconsiderate...

Come to think of it... maybe that's an appropriate comment after all....

and besides - I was only referring to one particular beantowner.

I think it was So-crates that said "better to die cool without your seatbealt on, than be a dork"... or something like that. ;)

Don;t you think it is just a *little* hypocritical to worry about a seatbelt on a forum where people consistently brag about hitting 125mph+? Liek a frickin' seatbelt is going to save you at that speed. It might help keep your charred corpse in the same general vicinity.... :alright
