How do I get these baby's out?


I just got a friend of mine into BMW's and hes got one of these.. I just need to figure out how to pull the fog lights out to replace the bulbs.

Its the same lights as this car has...

Any help is greatly appreciated. I searched but couldn't find anything here or on bimmerdiy etc..

Its different than that :( I would have figured that out.. this one doesn't have any panels that come loose around it.. Just a hole in the bumper where a light is.. I may have to take the covers off the bottom side of the bumper but I'd hate too if there is a trick. Look at my above picture for what light I am talking about.

You pry them out. The hole to the road side of the light is for adjusting the aiming of the light. It might seem hard, but you need to apply some torque to pry them out. Use a flat head screw driver wrapper in a about 3-5 layers of duct tape so you don't scratch the paint.

Thank you sir. I was thinking thats how it was done by looking into there but I was a little scared of prying too hard. Ill give it a shot tomorrow when I see him.

Or you can go the headlight removal way :laugh

Its no big deal. Takes about 2 seconds to pop it.

I'd take the bumper off before I did that...
