Hey y'all,
Please don't flame. I'm not lazy, just in kind of a hurry.
I've been window shopping for an old beemer and have settled on a 1981 320i. (Cheap, good condition) I may just keep it stock, but I want to find out what kind of aftermarket is around for an '81 320i

Is there a place to get shocks and springs? Free flowing exhaust? rims?
(I see others have nice looking custom 320i)
Couldn't find anything at Turner Motorsports

If anyone has useful links to other threads or online stores please post.
Some forums have handy reference threads stickied to the top, but I don't see one here

-Thanks

Aftermarket is minimal for the E21. However you can easily get new shocks and suspension. Wheels will be harder and are always bought used rather than new. Exhaust are also always custom pieced together as there is no end all kits available.

Your best bet is to search and see what you want. Being lazy gets you nowhere quick. We just went through a few threads on suspension. You will have to go through the first 5 pages or so to find them.

Im also being lazy too so I cant search and post all the links for you atm, but others will do the deed. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

PS keeping it stock wont last you very long, hope you brought some change with you :)

Thanks.
Why are rims always used? Are they a strange size not currently made? Other reason?

Yeah, I figured an exhaust would be: get a muffler and have the bends custom done

I haven't bought car just yet. Are there reasons I shouldn't buy? Really expensive to fix, hard to get parts? Any warnings to offer me?

-thanks

Very few companies make new wheels with the proper offset.

These cars are easy to work on, and most all parts can be found new thanks to BMW mobile tradition. There are also tons of places that sell OEM parts, and there are always people here who can source that hard to find part for you. Now go out and buy it.

Okey Dokey...

Well, I'll post some pics in a week or 2, if all goes well.

This may sound crazy, but I won't even get a chance to test drive it before I buy it. I'll just assume it's a fun car to drive. Correct me if I'm wrong.
