Damn! What a rare part - especially in new condition! :buttrock
Why are you selling it when your signature says you're looking for one?

95///M3 07-18-2006, 04:01 PM I am bought it to put on my LTW but am holding out to find one that was painted Alpine from the factory. I will go snap some pictures.
Also, I wanted to include that the jigs to mount it as well as the hardware and adhesives are included as well as instructions from a BMW service bulletin.

Hi Jimmy,
That's the "Class 2" wing, not the GT/LTW wing.
The Class 2 and the GT/LTW wing are different.
LuxoM3 07-19-2006, 03:04 PM yeow!
95///M3 07-19-2006, 03:38 PM From my understanding, the class 2 wing was installed on vehicles without the 3rd brake light from the factory. I know for a fact that that upper arch is indeed the same as the GT/LTW wing. And the bottom is nearly identical however it was molded from the factory for the light and not drilled in by PTG. Please correct me if im wrong Benji. Still for sale however!

Still for sale however! You're right about the bottom section being different but the difference is not limited to the molded housing for the 3rd brake light. The Class 2 wing doesn't overhang nearly as much as the GT/LTW wing. If you see a side-by-side profile comparison of the two wings, you'd clearly see the difference.
Ultimately, the Class 2 wing should not be considered the same as GT/LTW wing. It's like claiming that the arched and non-arched versions of the standard OE wing are the same.

95///M3 09-20-2006, 09:43 PM Please hold off on all of the PM's and Emails please.... ///m3///m5 has dibs on it at the moment.... I will update this as necessary.
odortiz 09-20-2006, 10:20 PM seen here on alan taur's old car
odortiz 09-20-2006, 10:22 PM here is the genuine ltw wing with brake light installed by ptg (by hand)
notice how the bottom extends farther. upon close inspection of a real ltw wing, you can tell the brake light was an afterthought to meet us regs.
95///M3 09-20-2006, 10:51 PM They both look great... Id like to see the top one with risers.
99Estoril 09-20-2006, 11:18 PM They both look great... Id like to see the top one with risers.
I do not think the risers would fit up well on the GT2 wing you're selling. Keep in mind the base is totally different compared to the GT/LTW base. Only way they would is if the mounting holes are the same. Who am I kidding though? You have the risers and the GT2 wing so let us all know. ;)
justaddcoffee 09-20-2006, 11:59 PM odortiz-
thanks for the comparrison photos.
95///M3 11-17-2006, 10:39 AM I have 1 more of these now. Top!

dynamik 11-17-2006, 01:47 PM wow this looks awesome on ///M3///M5's car, too badi don't have the funds for it
argento 11-17-2006, 04:04 PM Very nice GT2 wing...I haven't installed mine yet, but I did learn a lesson. This wing requires different mounting holes than the GT wing. I bought a LTW trunklid with GT mounting holes but after the fact realized that I needed different mounting holes (didn't do my homework)...just FYI...it's a great part. Good luck with sale!

drivea328 11-17-2006, 04:04 PM i think that the one you are selling looks far better than the original

WEBBY 02-07-2007, 10:29 AM Hey, that doesnt look like an original LTW wing to me! for a start the lower half is too bulky looking and the brake light is in the wrong place (the genuine one is placed a little higher).

Correct, it is the Class2 wing.
Vitolo 02-07-2007, 11:06 AM This is a great deal for such a complete package.
For those who havent purchased new parts lately, these wings sold for more money BEFORE the US dollar took a crap. If these are even still available (?) you'll probably pay quite a bit more elsewhere.
WEBBY 02-23-2007, 07:32 AM OOPS! correction- it IS genuine!!! It's so rare I assumed it wasn't real because I hadn't seen one before (how embarassing?!). SORRY!!!
///M3avusblau 02-23-2007, 10:35 AM man that is the best looking wing.. i wish i could afford it right now.
