I have a 2006 325i w/ Sport package and power front seats w/ memory. I cannot get the personal profile prohgramed in my remote. I did what the directions told me to do. The display indicates that the seat should automaticaly adjust to my personal settings when the door opens. Nothing happens.

Make sure you have BOTH two key turn on the person profile in your display.

The key memory (personal profile) is only applicable to the keys. I.e. if you use one key and your wife use the other key, when you (or your wife) unlocks the door, the seats will be readjusted to the 'preset' position stored in your key. If you are the only driver and you only use 1 key, then pressing the unlock button will not reset the seats back to whatever settings stored in memory. You have to put the key into the slot and press the memory buttons (1 or 2) to change that.
So in a sense there are 2 keys with individual memory settings (Climiate control, unit, and security settings), and within each key, you can have 2 different seat and mirror settings.
To put this into context, I will use myself as an example. Sometimes I like to sit high and some days I like to sit lower. Pressing button 1 on my car seat will push the seat up higher so my head is closer to the ceiling, and pressing button 2 on my car seat will move the seat lower onto the floor. My gf uses her keys to unlock the door and the seats and mirrors will adjust to her preferences (whatever that is.. e.g. glue herself to the steering wheel because she is short). After she is done with my car I come and unlock the door and the seats will be back to where I left it.
Happy driving
