Gray... Blk interior..

Does anyone have the IPod Factory option installed. I am told your ipod goes in the glove box and shows the songs playing on the dash. How is working for you? Cost?

I am shopping around and just want to know how much these things are going for..
Thanks! oh and enjoy!

26,000 miles, this one was 42k. It was a certified pre owned through a BMW dealership including the extended warranty to 100k. Other options include 19" wheels, cold wheather package, and roof.. Very clean. still has that new leather smell inside

Excellent to know! I am looking at a '03 with 32k miles. They are asking 45k which is 4k above my budget. Sounds like I might be able to get them down to 41-42k or even lower. Congrats on the new car!

45k for an '03 seems high unless it's a convertable.

Does anyone have the IPod Factory option installed. I am told your ipod goes in the glove box and shows the songs playing on the dash. How is working for you? Cost?I have it. The iPod does go in the glove box. Very nice and since I added it, I have yet to use a CD.
The downside:
1) It does NOT display the title of artists/songs
2) It was expensive, $300 installed
3) You have to create specifc playlists (i.e. BMW1, BMW2, BMW3, BMW4, BMW5). So you will need to add songs from your iTunes to each playlist. BMW6 is automatic and it plays your from your ENTIRE library on your iPod (there is a shuffle play mode which is really nice).
4) I have had it crash a few times. It cannot locate a playlist and simply runs through track numbers not finding the music. The only fix was to delete the playlist on the iPod and reload them (through your iTunes)
5) You cannot add a CD changer, but this really is a moot point if you are using your iPod.
All gripes aside, I love it and would highly recomend.

Does it also charge the IPOD, how is the sound quality?

I also have a few other dumb questions about the M3. I read the owners manual but it didn't say what the red bulb was under the rear view mirror, is it a light sensor?

Also, the manual talks about the drivers seat and keyless entry. Is there a way for the seat to move back when you're getting in and then return to position after you close the door?

1) the "clown nose" under your mirror is for the factory alarm. the alarm is NOT INSTALLED STANDARD. it is an option, and very easily installed on your own. the only shitty part is you have to have a dealer or any mechanic with either a GT1 or MODEC computer diagnostic tool set it up and activate it for you (once installed).

2) the seat does not move back automatically upon entrance of the car. this car is not meant to be driven by fatties. (although i wish all my cars would do this... none do, but my wife sits like 6 inches closer than i do- and i can't get in the seat after she has... and i'm skinny). but your driver seat memory will also memorize the position of the side view mirrors.

:rofl ok let me see if i read you right.

you have a hole there and a green chip?

that means yours has been broken off and you're looking directly at the circuit board.

oh, and if you DO NOT have the oem alarm, and dont want/need it- but still want to have the lights flash and car beep when you lock/unlock the doors- search the regular (non-m) e46 sub forum for these terms:

terms: alarm (posts not threads)
user: leftcoastbias

i've detailed how to have your shop activate that feature by circumventing the alarm.
