Hi there folks, I bought my Black 1991 750iL last sunday for a measley 3700 bucks, and I've run in to my first repair on it.

Lower Radiator Hose.
So none of the typical auto parts houses seem to have jack, or squat for this, but ... oh well. Been looking on ebay, and at random conversions...

So my first question is - Should I just try to find an OEM part, Case Tractor Part (surprisingly the cooling hoses seem to be identicle, save for cost), Or convert to the neato flex-pipe metal hoses?

Second Question - Is there a reccomended brand/type of coolant? Is there a reccomended mix ratio?

Third Question - Is there a special compartment where the manual usually hangs out, other than the glove box? Over the last week I've been having fun exploring all the places things in the car might be hiding - I found the Jack yesterday!

So far the drive has had mixed results... At times I've been gritting my teeth, waiting for something to break (before I replaced my tires), other times driving her has been a near spiritual experience, but most of the time, I just get giddy, and find myself giggling like an idiot.

It's a wonderful feeling to have the fastest, nicest car you've ever driven - belong to you. =D

Congrats on the car. Good price. Lets see pics.
I tried a flex hose on top hose and it wouldnt flex enough. I went with OEM hose from stealership for $35. I think its worth the peace of mind. I also use BMW coolant for same reason.

And so the scavenger hunt begins. Find the First-Aid kit, it's gonna take a bit of looking in unthought of places, ROFL

Does your E32 come with a first aid kit? If so, where is it located?

I may do that, depending on cost... Hopefully I didn't purchase a car that will be beyond my means to maintain.

BMW Coolant? Only Available through a dealership I assume?

I wasn't able to locate mine, was told it was above the center arm rest in the back seat. All I found was the pass through release behind the leather flap. My car may be unusual though. I purchased new key fobs for it and found the alarm box under the steering wheel and not behind the glove box as some suggested (was even told the alarm box was under the back seat).

Either way I would suggest that you download the Bentley manual found here: http://tridem.han-solo.net/auto/erich/auto.htm

Yay!

I've reassembled my back seat.

The lot I bought it off of tried to screw around with the battery, and couldn't get the seat off... Then they couldn't get it back on. It's amazing what a 13mm socket will do for you.
