I realize that this question has been touched on before to various degrees, but....
I recently purchased an '03 M3 w/ a Dinan S1 package. The car is a sleak beast! I'm looking for some advice on what I should do as far as regular maintenance that's covered under the factory warranty - such as fluid changes - above and beyond what the factory recommends. I don't want to just go by the book, I want to milk every penny out of my warranty and push to get service done that BMW will do, but don't necessarily advertise as essential.
I bought the car w/ 36.5K miles, the car currently has 41K miles, it's had the '03 recall stuff done, Insp 1 @ 35.8K. Any advice on what I can do to take advantage of the warranty and keep my baby in top notch shape is appreciated!
Attached are some pics of the newest thoroughbred in the stall.....

wow that is really late for INS1?
BMWs are very tuned to you already so theres not a ton of maintence that can be done. they use a special synthetic oil so you dont have to change your oil ever 3k miles like other cars, they have a built in sensor that tells you pretty much all your maintence...
so replace tires when need be. you will get 10k-20k on your tires depending on how agressively you drive and if you track your car.
i change my oil every 4500 miles or so but thats not really necessary. the dealership guy said that he has never seen an engine blow early because someone only did the service oilchanges, which are every 10-15k miles or so, but im just a little anal in that regard.
other than tires, and maybe oil, i cant think of anything major... maybe wheel alignment every 10k miles? as i said, the warranty covers your major inspections and services and the car is very user reactive and tuned for you. you got a beast there. sit back and enjoy it.

-Will, thanks for the input!
After reading your comment about the INS1, I went back through the car's service records:
1200 mile service done @ 1487 miles
First Engine oil service @ 11040 miles
"Low Mileage Service" @ 21356 miles (not sure what this is????)
Brake flush @ 2 years after in-service date
Inspection 1 @ 33,578 miles *** It was noted that the key reader was -2020 miles inspection*** Does the key reader indicate that the inspection was done 2020 miles PAST when it was due?
Current oil service due in 4100 miles according to indicator. My dealer says bring it in and he'll do this one now, and every other one at 5000-7500 miles - I damn near fell out of my chair when I heard that:D
A couple of questions for those with greater knowledge than I:
1) Can a dealer pull your service history if your vehicle has been serviced at BMW dealerships? I want to be SURE that all recall/defect work have been done
2) Anyone have any thoughts on the interval for changing out the Dinan intake air filter????
Thanks ahead of time for any input!

1. yes i think so
2. i clean my filter every time i change my oil, so around 4500 miles. the safe route is to buy a new filter every time you change it, because if you use too much or not enough oil when you clean and reoil the filter, you may set off the MAF sensor, as BMW sensors are some of the most sensitive in the world. with that being said, i have a K&N air filter, and i bought the clean and spray kit for cleaning and reoiling it at Autozone for like 13 bucks... and yeah it works really good. but these filters should have a lifetime warranty.
first engine oil service was what i used to refer to as INS1, and at 11k miles that seems a lot more like it. i did mine at 10,500 miles but i was 300 miles early and the dealership just did it because they have a 3 week waiting list on rental vehicles and i needed a rental. im not sure what the 2020 means.

if you want to change your own oil, buy about 7-8 quarts of Castrol 10W-60.
it runs from 8-11 a quart, and they have DYIs all over this place on how to do a proper oil change, along w/ a ton of other little fixit items if such problems should arrise and if/when you are out of warranty.
