My "trunk lid open" message keeps coming up when I start my car. The lid closed solid. What could cause this? I changed out some fuses lately. Could that have something to do with it? Im at a loss, any ideas?

Are you having any other funny electrical issues?

I had all kinds of funky stuff going on until my Indy diagnosed a faulty ignition switch...

Does your inside button (inside the car) work to open your trunk?

Here is my story: I somehow deactivated the inside trunk pop when I used my key one day. Since then I was recieving a message on the display about the trunk open. So, I opened the trunk, then used a key to turn the lever until I heard like a clicking noise. From there I shut the trunk. The message disappeared and the inside trunk pop works.

Mine happened from a dead battery, but same thing. Open your trunk, and use a screwdriver to engage the lock. Use your key to open it while it's still open, and viola, it should work just fine.

Just as an FYI...the central lock/unlock button (ctr console) and the remote trunk release button (driver's footwell)...will NOT unlock the trunk if you have removed it from the central lock system.

And you're probably asking...how do I do that? Well, according to the owners manual...if you leave the trunk lock in the horizontal position (--) it disconnects the trunk from the central locking system. If you leave the trunk lock in the vertical position ( | )...it will lock/unlock with the central locking system.

Leaving the trunk lock in the vertical position ( | ) also helps prevent you from "accicdently" locking the keys in the trunk...if you do lay them down while getting something out of the trunk, then slam the trunk shut...you can push the trunk lock button, which opens the trunk, and retrieve the keys....then lock the car up with either the keyless remote or manually. The other way....you're SOL until someone brings you a spare. :(

Yes. All you are doing is pushing the lock closed like it does when you close it. You know, you close the trunk the lock closes on the post? You have to engage it while it's open. A screw driver won't hurt it at all. :)
