I assume these are the supersprint knockoffs on ebay?

Ive heard of 2 people running them, and both had EXCELLENT experiences with quality and fitment. I dont think either have hit the dyno yet, but both were blown away by the quality welds and materials used. These were both used on S52 motors.

I plan on pulling the trigger on 2 sets, one for my DD Z3 1.9 and one for the M44 E30 track car Im bulding.

With the 4cyl, any gain in power from bolt on mods are going to give minimal power gains. Combined with a full exhaust system you will see many 10hp freed up depending on the effeciency of the rest of your system.

The factory M4x series exhaust manifold is pretty smooth. Its a good system. So gains are going to be small. Exhaust note will change and should result in a better sounding note. But this isnt speaking from experience since I havent had a set on and running yet.

Are these the knockoffs you're talking about?

I used to race a M42 318is in SCCA ITS and BMW CR in LP. Don't waste your money on headers... they won't yeild any power. We had 2 cars. Mine was 100K stock motor with a chip. The other was being built for FM and EP and had head work, cams, intake and headers.

The one with all the work made a few more HP and a couple less ft pds of torque when we dynoed them back to back. We learned unless you plan to spin the motor to 8 or 9K, it just doesn't make any more power.

On the other hand if you want headers because they are cool, then go for it - I can respect that.
