Hey gang,

While on a trip to Connecticut this past week, we were near the Lime Rock race track and decided to pop in and check it out. What a beautiful and nicely appointed course! It feels more Country Club than down 'n dirty racetrack.

As it turns out, the PCA was running a track day and doing laps while we poked around. Some great cars out there, everything from a 914 to a new GT3 and some 993 Turbos. But I was surprised and all too pleased to see us representing - a silver E36 M3 was holding its own in the middle of the pack!

If anyone here has run Lime Rock, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the track.

best,

LRP is my favorit north east track. It is a drivers track were it rewards you for a good line and momentum. It is bumpy, but they are making improvments on it. A very good E36 track. :D

LRP is in fact a park. I've been going there since I was a kid, back about 35 years ago, and watching races.
35 years later I came to LRP to drive and it was quite overwhelming to do so. I almost left felling that there was no way I was supposed to be there. Since then I've driven that track about 10 times or so.
Short, but this is no easy track to drive as it's very fast and there is just no time beside the very short front straight to relax.

If you liked the track then get this DVD (http://www.bentleypublishers.com/product.htm?code=h708). The first time I saw it I almost cried ... :cool :D Short promo clip (http://www.bentleypublishers.com/video/bentleyPubs.limeRock.promo.htm)

By the way I gather the event you saw there was the PCA that everyone and there mother were getting black flagged due to noise. Even cars with factory exhaust were getting nailed. It's a very unfortunate enforcement that makes little sense.
