The cd rom I have seems to bypass the possible finger losing instructions for disaster..... Help!!!! 640CSi 07-13-2006, 07:21 AM In my experience the springs werent the problem, it was the little tab of metal bending backwards causing a no close situation, but to install springs, just put the loop side in first and then wrap a rag around the 3 inches or so after the 90 degree bend and hook it to the lower tension setting. berry 07-13-2006, 03:35 PM The problem I have as that I am yet to see them in place, so i will have a fiddle and see what I can sort out. Thanks again all berry 07-13-2006, 06:28 PM Just a little confused now. There is 2 parts to the spring mechanism. 1 which has a 6 inch 90 degree right angle on each end and the other no2, has a 'u' shape at each end. Which goes where, first and how. I think I need a photo for this, any help would be 'relieving' to say the least! 640CSi 07-13-2006, 07:29 PM you have to look at it closely and the u shape attaches to little tabs that should be hanging freely right now and the end of it attaches nearby into the body. as for the 90 degree bend, it attaches to one of the two hook looking spots on the opposite end. I have mine set to the looser setting because they like to swing up violently and dent the panel under the rear windshield |
