I just purchased a 64k documented 4 speed manual 80' 633csi. One owner. Next door neighbor had to buy both a 635 and now my 633 as part of the deal. Bizarre story, but I am the lucky one, I hope!

The rear speaker pod box things on the parcel shelf need to be repaired. Can I outright replace these anymore with new or aftermarket or is there a home specialist who can give me some much needed advice?

I have owned a variety of cars over the years, but this is a personal favourite I have always wanted on my list of toys.

Congrats!

Someone did a write-up on repairing his pods on Roadfly IIRC.

He used Gorrilla glue, and a bunch of c-clamps. It has been a few years so I dont remember much else. You may want to search there.

What color interior do you have? I have a parcel shelve for sale if you just want to replace it. It would be a while before i could ship it to you, beings that it is in maryland and i am not. But it is black if that would work for you.

Thanks for the offer of the rear shelf, but I am tan in colour. And also thanks for the the hot tip regarding gorilla glue etc. Shall check it out.

Loving this forum.

If your car has the Pearl Beige interior (pretty common on 635's - not sure about 633's), I think I know where a used set is that someone would sell you. If they aren't badly warped, the Gorrilla glue method they describe over on Roadfly is pretty good.

Send me a PM if you are interested in the other pods.

I have the pearl beige interior on my 83 633. I was going to go lighter in color when i get it apoulstured(sp). Something like lotus white or something. I know the blue was a more popular color on the 633 than the 635, and thats hit or miss ive seen. Its either in good shape or trashed for some reason.

It's definately not black, not sure what pearl white is, but I think this definately tan/camel. Think I may go get some gorilla glue and have an attempt. I know it's hot enough here right now so no heat gun required.
