Bad. But they've never charged for spectators. DTM Driven 07-10-2006, 08:49 PM ok thanks, what about parking, how much is that TC535i 07-10-2006, 08:55 PM No charge for parking. Entrance/parking/viewing is free. jaramill 07-10-2006, 09:00 PM Is there a fee for just spectating/watching? i want to go, but i dont really want to run my car, thanks All the answers given to you by the others are correct. And yes after you leave, you'll wish you had driven because it has an addictive quality to it. Though when you watch as a spectator you have to sign 2 waivers (one for California Speedway, one for BMWCCA). boostedm3freak 07-10-2006, 09:43 PM hopefully i get my yoko tires by then but in still going jaramill 07-14-2006, 03:12 PM bump tomas3314 07-14-2006, 06:38 PM what's the price to enter this time? oh and that's with membership and no helmet rental needed jaramill 07-14-2006, 06:40 PM what's the price to enter this time? oh and that's with membership and no helmet rental needed Please read the autocross information sheet at the "Club Haus" section of the LA Chapter website (see my sig below). Do we enter at the Main Gate on Cherry ave? And i'd like to remind entrants and visitors to keep the speeds way way down on the long straight boring access roads on the speedway property. Like cruise in 2nd gear or idle in 3rd - the speed is posted at 15 mph but they seem to tolerate you going 30. Bring lots of water, sunscreen, and a hat. boostedm3freak 07-15-2006, 10:09 PM well i got my kosei with some a032 tire4s on lets see how they hold up jaramill 07-15-2006, 10:14 PM My PC won't open the map for some reason, is the Green lot the lot 12 that the SCCA uses on the far west side of the property? Do we enter at the Main Gate on Cherry ave? Yes Randy. The green lot (formerly lot 12) is the same lot that SCCA uses. E36M3E 07-17-2006, 10:53 AM It was fun seeing all of you again at Fontana. Met some new people and learned some new tricks. That is a great lot. Great day Gio, Brian, kelly and all the other volunteers. Thanks! Eric TC535i 07-17-2006, 11:54 AM Was thinking about heading out and just observing, but it was 90 out here in West LA. Didn't feel like driving the 60 miles each way to sit in that kinda heat. :) See you kids in a month out my way! M3 Pete 07-17-2006, 01:05 PM It was fun seeing all of you again at Fontana. Met some new people and learned some new tricks. That is a great lot. Great day Gio, Brian, kelly and all the other volunteers. Thanks! EricIt's easy for you to say, since you trophied. I suffered all day long, and went home with only a bill for a broken windshield. :rolleyes j/k, it was damn hot, but fun. Thanks to all who helped organize the event, and the instructors for showing up in the heat. jaramill 07-17-2006, 01:22 PM Though the OBC display said 103 degrees, we lucked out in the morning, to mid-afternoon where we had cloud cover so it was only mid-90s. But then it got hot to 103. But overall a great course design, and not one problem with Timing & Scoring. Results will be posted on the LA Chapter website soon. Thanks to all who helped organize the event, and the instructors for showing up in the heat. I think you're the only person I've EVER heard of breaking a WINDSHIELD at auto-x. :confused Explain? I wasn't even going to say a word. sshhhh! 94is 07-17-2006, 02:17 PM I think you're the only person I've EVER heard of breaking a WINDSHIELD at auto-x. :confused Explain? Tracy's car got the windshiled broken when someone hosed it off with cold water when it was about 110 outside. :eyecrazy M3 Pete 07-17-2006, 03:46 PM But overall a great course design, and not one problem with Timing & Scoring. GioReally? My third run was probably my best, but it didn't get timed. In the rerun I did worse and got two cones. So at least I had a problem. But I'm just bitter I didn't beat Eric. :stickoutt uh, the windshield. Hmm, well, it had nothing to do with heat, and nothing even to do with the auto-x. Let's just say it's a long story. :banghead: BahnBurner 07-17-2006, 04:36 PM I was actually expecting it to be hotter. With the clouds and all it wasn't that bad. It was a fun time. Hey Eric I think I was parked next to you. I had the black coupe. It was good talking to you. E36M3E 07-17-2006, 04:53 PM I was actually expecting it to be hotter. It was good talking to you. good talking to you too. now how about a M50 manifold kit for that coupe? ha ha just kidding. see ya at the next one...I hope. it's so hard for me to get the time off for these. But I'm just bitter I didn't beat Eric. :stickouttYou have very good car control Pete, and with a little more practice at reading the course you'll be beating a lot of people soon enough. uh, the windshield. Hmm, well, it had nothing to do with heat, and nothing even to do with the auto-x. Let's just say it's a long story. :banghead:Good to know it wasn't autocross related. Eric Haha, yeah I will keep it mind. Yeah hopefully you can make it to the next one. There is in SD in September right? Maybe with some more seat time I will do better. We'll see. Synthetic Darkness 07-18-2006, 01:28 AM Good times hanging out with you guys out there. I was only planning on watching but I got hornswoggled into running. I guess it worked out in the end though. BTW Randy, I loved watching the E36 go around body roll and all. Bud Scott 07-18-2006, 10:09 AM Just another thanks to all you west coast Bimmerheads for tons of fun the last two events. It is clear I should stay away from anything with over 90 HP available under my right foot! See all of you in October. Villanuevas_BMW 07-18-2006, 12:02 PM A very BIG thanks to all the staff for making the day possible. I barely got the car together in time, it got done at midnight the night before. I was also expecting it to be hotter but I guessed we all lucked out. I feel I got to race for free, the $65 just went to how much water I drank, thanks for all the water too! Gio, I know you guys got a lot of static from people complaining about the cooper s's being in class b saying that "Their not BMW's!" and "Well San Diego does it!" and "Its not fair!", but I never had a problem with them in my class. It kinda setup a little rivalry between old and new school:) . Even though we may not have power steering or ABS, thanks to a very stock looking maroon 2002 and one hell of a driver, we all new who took top honors by the end of the day E36M3E 07-18-2006, 12:17 PM thanks to a very stock looking maroon 2002 and one hell of a driver, we all new who took top honors by the end of the day haha...we all know brian's secret. he has velcro on the bottom of his accelerator pedal and the brake pedal is only there for the placibo effect!!! way to go brian...we (with the super modern cars) should all hang are heads in shame. M3 Pete 07-18-2006, 12:38 PM haha...we all know brian's secret. he has velcro on the bottom of his accelerator pedal and the brake pedal is only there for the placibo effect!!! nah, I actually heard Brian using the accelerator in the slalom, he let off just enough to let the car rotate and floored it again into each cone, accessing all 100 or so horses! I think you are right about the brakes though, they are only for the street! Although Brian has probably been doing this before many of us (a) bought a BMW, (b) ever heard of an autox, or (c) had our driver's license, his driving is a testament to momentum driving, which is what all racers had to do before cars really got some hp. I first met Brian Moon several years ago at a BMWCCA autox in Irwindale, and I was a complete noob and didn't know anything or anybody (yeah, yeah, not much has changed). I didn't know his yellow shirt meant he was an instructor, I didn't know he was pretty much the senior instructor in the LA Chapter, and I didn't know how long he'd been at this. All I knew was that when I was out working the course, this maroon 2002 seemed to be kicking the living crap out of every other car out there, pitched into every turn, body leaning way over, tires squealing and sliding, but without contacting any cones. I approached him later and congratulated him on his impressive driving in his "older" car. I think I heard a little snicker as I walked away. :) jaramill 07-18-2006, 12:58 PM Ladies & Gentleman. Brian Moon is the MASTER at 2002 driving and getting that red brick around autocross courses and beating newer 2006 BMW M3s with 333hp is a testament to his awesome skill. Oh and he's a autocross and track instructor for many, many years. BahnBurner 07-19-2006, 10:18 AM Hey Gio, do you know when the results from the auto-x will be posted on the website? jaramill 07-19-2006, 12:58 PM Hey Gio, do you know when the results from the auto-x will be posted on the website? When I get them from Timing & Scoring which should be real soon. M3 Pete 07-21-2006, 08:29 PM When I get them from Timing & Scoring which should be real soon. How soon is "soon"? :stickoutt jaramill 07-21-2006, 08:30 PM How soon is "soon"? :stickoutt As soon as I get them from Matt. M3 Pete 07-24-2006, 03:15 PM As soon as I get them from Matt.? jaramill 07-24-2006, 03:18 PM Meaning when I get the file e-mailed from Matt. Even then, I have to then send it to our webmaster for posting so at this point, asking me when, is pointless. I will let everyone know when they are available. BahnBurner 07-24-2006, 08:49 PM So Matt hasn't emailed you the file yet? Synthetic Darkness 07-24-2006, 08:59 PM I believe the times are up. Mine look off though but I the trophy doesn't lie. BahnBurner 07-25-2006, 01:38 AM Where are you looking? I can't find it. jaramill 07-25-2006, 02:57 AM There are NO results for the LA Chapter up. When I get them I'll have the webmaster post them up. This is the last I'll reply to the inquiries. M3 Pete 07-26-2006, 05:29 PM Since Gio is tired of us, does anybody else have Matt's address so we can have Guido and Luigi go over and "persuade" him to e-mail the results to Gio? :blackeye :blackeye :blackeye :brick: jaramill 07-28-2006, 02:33 PM RESULTS HAVE NOW BEEN POSTED. Please go to the "Club Haus" section of the LA Chapter website. See my signature below for links to the website. Sorry for the delay but again, results come from one person to me, then e-mailed to the webmaster for posting. Again this a volunteer organization and not our full-time jobs. Thank you for your patience. Gio BahnBurner 07-28-2006, 03:15 PM That's awesome Gio, thanks. You know we only give you a hard time cause we love you!
