i met a guy today who wants to trade me his SSR GT3s for my OEM Competition Rims straight up.

would this be a good trade? if so, for whom? both sets are in similar condition and tires as well. he has proxes in the rear and some potenza pole positions up front.

i have Pilot sports all the way around.

sounds good - as long as they are in similar condition. u will like the ssr's alot. so will your car. nothing like reducing the unsprung weight.

btw the SSRs are gunmetal. and a little bigger than mine. i think hes running 235f/275r

Try and get the wheels only. Mismatched tires aren't worth it. But the wider, lighter, better looking wheels are.

yeah M, that is what im thinking

if i decide to supercharge my car, i will need to get new bigger rims anyways, wider ones that can accomadte larger tires because i will need the traction.

and in addiiont to that, ive always kind of liked the SSRGT3s and the gunmetal fits well with a blue car..

however, ive always ued michelin pilot sports and will continue to do so until they make a better tire IMO. furthermore, i know this post is starting to turn into an essay but bear with me:

my michelin pilot sport A/S rear tires are brand new. well not really, but close, they have less than 1000 miles on them. and i paid about 400 a piece for those.... so im sure if i switched rims, i could at least get about 200-250 per tire. the front ones i was meaning to replace anyways, because they are OEM factory pilot sports. they have maybe 2000 miles left.

now i dont know the condition of the tires he has on his car but i am really considering the trade if he will go rim for rim.. and wejust keep our own tires....

i like the rims n all but i think my tires are worth a lot more and im gonna keep driving w/ Michelin Pilot spots till i find something better.

ill probably keep my rims+tires till i supercharge the car.
