Then I turned it off and tried to start it again. It fired up and died.

After the vanos install i turned to motor over twice by hand and everything lined up.

Any opinions?

cam position sensor? Crank position sensor? Fuel pressure? We need a little more info to help.

The cam and crank are in the correct place... the started the first time fine and held idle so i believe fuel and spark are good.

I opened the valve cover up again and it looks like the secondary chain has jumped. Hopefully replacing it will fix this issue
