First off I'd like to say I hate street racing, I think it's stupid and dangerous, and a waste of gas. I've only raced maybe 3 other cars (if that) in the 2 years I've owned the car. This was just one of those times


Umm not much to say, we raced from 35mph to 80. He had 2 girls in the car less than 100lbs each and an empty tank of gas. I think he is stock, lots of gauges though so maybe a boost increaser though. I have Dinan Intake and Exhaust full tank of gas, and jack stands, a full tool set and some extra parts in my trunk. (just in case you know?)

So he honks three times and gets a slight jump, I then pull ahead like half a carlength, and I was stupid to shift at 6000rpm, and he was pulling a little after 65 after I shifted into 3rd.

At 80 I had 1/4 CL on him.

Without the two girls in his car he should have had you by at least 2 cars thru 4th gear.Depending on the driver of course. I guess we may have to give you the benefit of the doubt since you were there.But grudgingly so!

I know the 06 STi that had exhaust which I raced three times last week in my 99M3(Dinan SW,Full SS exhaust) got my by one car each and every time all the way thru 4rd gear from a 1st gear roll.I could not catch him and he could not pull more than that 1-11/2 car lead.

The EVO MR is even a tad faster.

So your telling me you run mid-low 13s with just intake & exhaust lol, yeah right, if you did then that m3 must be running hella crappy...Also Evo @ 276hp @ 286lbs of torque + AWD turbo which i hardly doubt will happen unless driver is just really horrible lol.

The evo and I raced from a roll, not much driving skill required other than shifting into 3rd, and pushing the gas down. He's raced 350z put a car and half on them. Other e36 m3s put a CL on them.

The E36 M3 S/C didn't feel fast at all when I drove it, so I dunno if there was something wrong with it.

My other buddy has a 99 m3 with full hartge exhaust (manifold back) a chip (i forget) and some crazy ass carbon fiber intake. I made his car look like it was standing still. Do you have more mods than him?

A very strong engine indeed. You must have a factory freak with an extra 50hp or so than a reg e36 m3 huh? Or maybe the people you race normally get around by wheelchair+helmet. Seriously though, I would say you beat the drivers but like you said..from a roll theres not a whole lot to screw up. My only experience with an evo has been in my Cobra, the same cobra that spanked my e36 m3(intake,exhaust) over and over. The evo was faster than the cobra.

yea both lavam3 and the owner of the evo are close friends of mine and it is true that the m3 beat the evo but it is very confusing to me. The evo guys previouse car was a 99 alpine m3 with AA Intake and exhaust and it beat lavam3's m3(before dinan intake and exhaust). And at the same time our other friend would rape the alpine m3 with his 04 mach one with boltons but now the evo and the MACH are pretty close in acceleration so i dont see how LAVAS m3 beat the evo.

Also earlier that evening the stock evo mr (3 people including driver) beat an 05 intake and exhaust sti (2 people including driver) and the evo owner is a very good driver so its not a "you beat the driver" type of deal

The only way a N/A M3 will beat a lightly modded STI or EVO with stck booost on a roll is with Full exaust,SW and Schrick cams,or even better a Supercharger.Then and only then will it be capable to beat the EVO MR or STI on a roll.I cannot speak on behalf of the WRX but if it's heavily modded.Same results.

It is amazing what proper care for an engine will do - you treat the engine and it treats you.

With that said, with no particular malice or hate towards you, but it seems as if when an e36 m3 is questioned, said owner replies with having a "particularly strong engine". My complaint is that every e36 m3 on this board has a "factory freak engine".:rolleyes Without numbers, anyone saying they have a strong engine is meaningless and has no bearing.

I raced one before in my E36 m3 and pulled hard but he was stock . I also raced a mopar stage 2.5 and he pulled 5 good car lengths from 50-120 i figure that same car could take my e30 for 1.5 cars. I havent found any modded ones lately.

how? there's an e46 m3 vs. evo mr thread and the evo dominated. it was slightly modded, but how is the speed difference going to change from that of an e36 m3 to faster than an e46 m3 with only a couple of mods?

well he trapped 105 106 ish I believe and armiani in the s54 did a 12.9 at a 110 and also ran some others at a 115, as you would know awd cars trap lower. :embarrasm soo looking at just that any smart or some what intelligent person could figure out even tho the evo ran a faster 1/4 if they raced the s54 would be catching it at the end of the track and doing faster mph a.k.a. on highway = walked 1/4 mile is everything buddy... need to learn that.

I just solved that problem in my IX MR today. :evil2 I installed a full 3" tbe with cat delete, Walbro 255 hp fuel pump, MBC, lower IC pipe, 1 step colder plugs and a custom flash. :D The IX has transformed into a new beast now. Next up is a new set of cams and a new JDM Evo IX 20g turbo and injectors. :alright

Actually Evo isn't much slower from a roll either guys, now if we're talking about STi then ok thats different though...If you compare EVo vs STi from stop, STi will most likely win but from a roll Evo will more likely come on top...

But any s50 e36 m3 motor swap in e30 shell should be able to beat a Evo with no problem especially with couple basic mods, does not matter if you're going from a roll or stop, its almost like trying to compare a 2100-2200lb Miata with only like 180hp vs 280hp @ 3500lbs, who will win....

For the youtube race, unless he has some type of EM or at least a reflash those mods are fairly irrelevant. What exactly is "more".

For the s54 e36 race, sounds like that Evo was stock.
