View Full Version : A few things bothering me...

On the way home tonight from a friends house, I came to a point where the moon and stars were at the correct angle and certain issues came to a point of critical mass in my head. Now I must vent...

1) What in the name of all that is holy is going on with premium fuel??? In the past year or so, I have noticed certain fuel stations charging 12 cents more than plus for premium. In the past few weeks, I've seen several stations at 16 cents above. And now tonight, 20 cents. WTH is going on...besides Iran and that little gargoyle from North Korea?

2) For quite a while now, I have detected an odor coming from the vents of my wonderfully German designed and built ghetto blaster...the smell of crayons. The previous owner did not have children, nor did he ever drive children in the vehicle. He was too anal retentive for that. So what gives? I have experienced vehicles with bacteria or fungus growing in their ventilation systems, so I know what that smells like, but it's nothing like crayons. Should I start ripping the dash apart trying to find a phantom crayon, or just let it be?

3) Has anyone had any experience with Representative Bob Smith from Georgia? I had a recent situation with him, and I am curious if anyone has good things to say about him. :firedevil

1. IMO, I think it has something to do with added taxes. Bush thinks that rich people drive cars that use premium gas, so it is a good way to tax them. Maybe the cost in the added detergents went up. :dunno

2. I did not even know crayons had a smell. :confused

3. Bob who?

1) I think this may cause people to find out that their vehicles can actually run on plus fuel instead (FI not included of course.)

2) Did we not play with crayons much as a child, or were we afraid we couldn't stay within the lines? If the latter is the case, then not much has changed since then. :rofl2 j/k

3) My point exactly!:boobies

Hahahahahaha... Republicans taxing rich people? That IS rich.

Gas is expensive because it's traded as a comodity and the traders are crazy with greed.

I have noticed that not all stations are doing it so that would kinda eliminate a tax or surcharge. I only run it in the Z3 and midgrade in everything else. The big QT and Racetrack are doing this with their costs but the Shell by my house is still at the $.10 over mid price which makes them cheaper than the bigger stores. According to some of the stuff I found on the net premium fuels have dropped 5% in sales since the prices of gas went up. Maybe they are trying to make their money back.

Crayons? It could be worse, I had a rat die in the vents of a '65 mustang I had once.

Bob Smith? Don't know him.

All I know about him is that he dumps used motor oil in a ditch behind his house.
