Greetings, ive been lurking on your forums for a while and i thought id introduce myself finally. I used to have an 1983 E30 323i and i loved the car, but it had a few issues that i couldnt really put money into (compulsion part of brain says "yes fix it", common sense says "no sell it") So yes, its since been sold, but i thought id write it up.

Hello to australian bimmer forum folks btw :)

note: to those who drive on the right, reminder that australia drives on the left, just to save confusion if you wonder what the hell im doing on the wrong side of the road for the whole journey :p

note 2: The car i was driving was auto, please dont hate me :( lol. I wanted manual, and i fell in love with this car, despite being auto.

Story begin

Our true story begins late one night on my way home from my gf's house, who lives around 30 min away from my place. I forget the exact time, but its around midnight. I exit the highway and i come to a 2 lane roundabout, right hand lane, indicating to go right.

Unknown car comes screaming from the left, its an unidentified hatchback, stupid blingy chrome rims, wasnt paying attention to its profile, was concentrating on the roundabout at hand. Began to negotiate the roundabout, about to exit roundabout, check mirrors for where the crap mobile is. Its gone. WTF. Blind spot check, there it is, trying to overtake on the left lane. But the left lane ends? Stuff you mate, im not letting your stupid shiney wheels in front of me! I Floor it. I dont actually think it would have even made it in front of me even if i didnt floor it, it would have cut me off (going by its performance later in the story). Thats the bit that got me angry and wanting to kill it.

So we continue on our merry way, it merged in right behind me, right up my ass, it obviously was in a hurry, so i thought it best to not be in it's way and delay it. So i continue to floor it.

I brake hard and turn left, and amazingly enough so does the silly car. Along comes big sweeping turns that go on for a fair while. This quality of this backroad is down right bad, very patchy and bumpy, narrow, with a concrete median strip. Im doing around 80kph (50mph) on these bends, chucking the car about quite nicely. I pull a little bit on the silly hatchback, maybe about a car length.

Then comes a nice long straight, around 10km long. Its also of very bad quality, no kerb as such, just sort of "melds" into grass, sometimes with potholeish drops to grass. Also very hilly, but not hilly enough to cause a car to bottom out unless it was super low. At least the concrete median is gone.

So i hang back doing my 80kph, to see what idiot small hatchback tries, i see headlights drift to the right, obviously to try and overtake. I think, "no, not now, not ever". So i floor it once again, its headlights drift back to the left behind me and for around a second or 2, its hanging around behind me, then i steadily pull on this car. Speeds are steadily climbing, i seem to be pulling harder and harder on it. Headlights getting smaller and smaller in rearview mirror. Road ahead is clear, i put highbeams on. I look at the speedo, 160kph (100mph) and right now, and that quality of road is damn scarey at that speed. I lift off and maintain 160kph and move over and straddle the dotted white lines since the road is better in the middle. At 160kph i was still pulling on the hatch, but very very slowly. This makes me sad. As we're going along, i flash my rear fogs at it, it continues in not so hot pursuit.

End of the road starts comming up, i take a nice and slow braking approach, i even indicate, being the courteous driver that i am. I even come to a full stop to check for traffic. I turn right, and as im turning right i see headlights in my right mirror, it had to have braked uber hard and turned from the right hand lane. It was hanging around in my blind spot, im not even flooring it, i give it a little bit, and it just hangs in the blindspot, im thinking, wtf, this is weaaaak. As we're comming up to a left turn to go over some railway tracks, an oncomming car is on the hatches side of the road, distant but obviously going along its lane, and no chance of getting in front of me. I turn, go over the tracks, come to the traffic lights, stop. Hatchy stops behind me, i try and make out what the hell kind of car it is, but i cant see for the headlights. I drive casually around the intersection, so does the hatchback, obviously no fight left in it. It makes its turn, i check mirrors to see if i can figure out what it was, but it was gone quick, it was absolutely dominated by its stupid shiney wheels. Ah well...

Story end

I hope the MS Paint illustrations "enhance" the story lol.

Hope you enjoyed my story, hope to be around on the bimmerforums for a while to come yet. :D

i flash my rear fogs at it.

Hmmm I never heard of that option.

Dont make fun of the shiny wheels they add like 10 HP each.

Good Kill.

not sure if its really called rear fogs, but the symbol on the dash that illuminates when i push the button for it is a different colour but a mirror image of the front fogs, so i can only assume?
