I justed checked the carfax and there is an odometer discrepancy, any idea what happened?

anthony95m3
07-10-2006, 08:57 AM
What odometer discrepancy? I also have the carfax here. The last 2 entry is 11/25/05 at 159,447 for inspection being passed in Richardson (at Classics BMW).

I meant the last entry. The one previously is 10/16/04 at 151,137 miles also for inspection being passed.

I will supply the CARFAX for anyone here who wants an inspection.

Since when did offering $1000 less than someone's asking price become a lowball? Especially when the seller said the price was obo... $4000 now that's a lowball offer!!!

anthony95m3-That carfax report is missing a section. Did you get it off their site?

on a car like this, he is giving his max offer of less than 10% off the asking price. people have already called the asking price fair. this is a well maintainted car with some of the known suspension weaknesses reinforced and the exterior looks great.

that is why it is a lowball.

The guy's fault isn't in his offer, he should have sent it privately. As far as the number, it seems like a reasonable offer. He didn't say that was his final offer, but welcome to negotiation, you shouldn't throw out your max price the first time around, same for the sellers. You guys are big time ball busters. Oh, and it would be more than 10% off the asking price (8999* .1 = $900) if you want to bust balls correctly.

youre a nerd ... it is all in the semantics ... i can do multiplication bro ... read what i wrote again ...

thus $8000 < $8100 ... :rolleyes

Anthony, please pm me with your email and I will forward the correct report to you and you can edit out the title numbers if you wish...

10-20% off someone's asking price is not a lowball unless the seller specifically lists that they are firm. In this case the seller specifically listed that the price was best offer...

I like the trim. I think it look great with the LTW's and the clears! If I had the room I might have 2 M's now. Good sale. Hope it stays how you left it.

anthony95m3
07-17-2006, 01:51 PM
The rubber on the outside of the window trim was cracked and looked REALLY ugly. I just scraped and sanded the rubber off. Then finely sanded the metal underneath the trim. Up close, it looks like polished aluminum.

It's a $20 part from the dealer. I liked the accented look along with the clear lights and the LTW. Bottom line, the original rubber was cracked and looked ugly, I wanted to see what a polished metal trim would look like, and if I don't like it, replacement part is $20.

BTW, I also have a fiberglass M3 spoiler and a set of Doublespokes I's that I will sell soon. The DS1s are in good condition with some minor curb rashes. But they are straight.

I was thinking the same thing. Seller is asking $8,999.....person offers $8,000. That sounds like a FAIR offer. It is better than all of the idiots that show up on threads saying dumb stuff like:

1.) 'If your car was in (insert state) I would buy it today.'
2.) 'If your car was $X,XXX cheaper I would buy it in a second.'
3.) 'If your car is for sale in 2 years or has 50,000 more miles, I am a buyer.'
4.) 'If it was (insert color or other lame azz excuse) I would buy it.'
5.) 'If I had the money I would buy it.' (*Stupid thing to post no matter how you look at it.)
6.) 'If.......'

Someone offering real money is better than some lame cashless excuse of 'if...if....if'. :rolleyes
