I love how people post distruction in the twisties stories when it's completely obvious that the "winner" is the one who is more comfortable pushing their car closer to the limit. 99.9% of the time it has NOTHING to do with the vehicle.

my job requires me to drive all different kinds of cars from one location to another on a parkway with many twisties and man i push all these cars to the limit to see what they got(benz,subaru,acura,vw,ect.. in two specific turns and they dont even compare as oppose to when im driving a 3 series thought them.

:) I just went home along with a 328is today on a few twisty roads. We were RAILING. I mean, I took a few turns very fast but for the most part he was right there. Overall it was crazy fun. I think the twisties are way more fun than straights. I would just cruise on the straights and gun it in the turns.

yes actually I am quite serious, and no you are not driving the cars are their limits. If you would have, then you would have crashed at least a few times. Please take you car to your local chapters DE to get an ego check. These things become pretty apparent there.

qft I was "owned" by a Corolla S in high speed twisties. I just wasn't fond of running 100ish mph around nearly blind corners on a road that I didn't know that had many access points.

well for reference, I'm sure everyone here knows that they aren't running their cars at 100%.... also, if you WE'RE running your cars at 100% of capability and driving skill you would not crash. Only if you were running at 101% or greater ;) (trust me I've been off the road before)

lol smartass. Ask any intructor at your local DE if there were ever off track. No matter how good you are, if you push it you'll be off track at some point.

but serious... go drive a track or cross... or run a canyon with kids who do it all day long in FWD hondas... youll get your ego checked.. although your bimmer CAN own the hondas and the likes, you might just get out driven, hard!

It has everything to do with the vehicle. Just because other cars rate the same skidpad numbers as a 3 series doesn't mean they are as easy to control at those extremes. BMW's take the "twisties" well because they feedback to the driver in a way the gives the driver a lot of control and perfect indication of the limits of the car. My 540i ZSP is a dismal performer on the skidpad compared to a lot of AMG mercedes (for example), but I'd take the 540i any day, because the driver feedback is so much better.

ther tureno spritner is a front whell drive corrola that has been super charged. toyota more or less purpose built em for events such as auto vross and hill climb

uh.. a sprinter is RWD drive car from the 80s... do a google search on one, a very badass car.
