View Full Version : I'm bailing out on driving to TX for Austin's wedding...
SQ Bimmer 07-08-2006, 06:28 PM I simply cannot spare the time to drive out there and come back. I will be missing too much work. I was really looking forward to seeing the Grand Canyon and the meteor impact site, and the miles and miles of long straight smooth roads. I was gonna borrow a v1 and everything...
Oh well..
I'm gonna fly instead!
HAHA I bet Austin got worked up reading this. Sup, Austin! :wave
Rates are going up daily, so I'm gonna try to get everyone without plane ticket reservations booked up by the end of the weekend, and maybe we can save on LAX parking costs and some rental car costs. We'll see, I might just rent a car anyways.
So, who's all going, anyways? See everyone there!
SecretAznSauce 07-08-2006, 06:54 PM i should be thurr !!!
SQ Bimmer 07-08-2006, 11:09 PM So offer still stand on the airport pickup via Armada? ;)
(I'll probably get a rental, so no worries :))
I'm actually looking forward to meeting you, airport taxi or not.
Pepe240sx 07-08-2006, 11:11 PM I'll be there for sure.
Justin, who else from Cali and outside of TX is coming to Austin's wedding?
Jetter2 07-09-2006, 01:26 AM DFW-LAX flights have gotten cheap. LAX and DFW are such major hubs, you can get a $100 ticket each way.
Christ I spend $130 flying to Kansas City on Southwest...

SQ Bimmer 07-09-2006, 07:28 PM I just hit up Southwest, and when I select Burbank or Los Angeles, DFW is not an available arrival option. WTF is up with that?!?!
Pepe240sx 07-09-2006, 10:06 PM Love Field is to choose, Justin.

WTF are you talking about?? I just booked a couple of tickets from LAX-DFW like 2 weeks ago and they were no where near $100
Just STFU, damn retarded noobs

Southwest is almost always cheaper than other carriers. I don't think Southwest does LAX-DFW though.

They don't....Southwest flies into Love Field Airport in Dallas.

What city is that in? "Love Field" isn't listed in the Southwest reservations page, so I need the city name. Thanks!
EDIT: Found it - But Southwest doesn't go to Love Field from LAX either.
EDIT 2: They don't go to Love Field from Burbank either.

I forgot...the city has this thing called a "Wright Amendment" which is complete BS. Thats why you can't fly into Love Field from CA. If you want to learn more about how people in Dallas are getting screwed, go to www.setlovefree.com
SQ Bimmer 07-10-2006, 11:32 PM Yea, in my Googling of the Love Field airport, I did run across that website. How retarded, LAX-DFW is probably a VERY highly demanded route, no reason for the hate on Love Field, and no reason for the disallowance of Southwest to do that route. HOW STUPID.
Pepe240sx 07-11-2006, 01:49 AM Justin, who else is coming from outside TX?
SQ Bimmer 07-11-2006, 03:27 AM Oh sorry, I meant to answer that above, but was pretty drunk and totally missed it. Heh.
Anyways, here is the list that I know for sure:
My girlfriend and I
Chad (ZeroG) and Carly (Palomino)
Tim (TC535i) and Kim (94is)
It seems we're gonna be arriving on 3 planes.

SQ Bimmer 07-13-2006, 02:27 AM I know we still got over 3 weeks to go, but I am looking forward to checking out Texas!
I am really disappointed we are not gonna drive out there too, but with the number of Farmer's Markets we are selling fruit at, we must try to miss as few as possible. That said, should I bring out some avocados for you guys? I dunno if avocados are readily available out in TX or not, but I can probably bring 10-15 lbs with me without having to check luggage.
Austin 07-13-2006, 06:14 PM Definately bring out some avocado's. Laura loves avocado's and that would be a great wedding present for her! She'll go crazy!
weaksauce 07-13-2006, 06:56 PM ATA codeshares with southwest if that helps. You couls always do a connecting flight. I work at DFW, so if anyone needs a ride/pick-up, let me know.
