View Full Version : 318is kills old mustang gt 5.0
Lee101315 07-08-2006, 08:19 AM not big on posting long kill stories, but I had just finished welding the reinforcement plates in the rear suspension, and went out for a ride. I found an old mustang GT 5.0 drop top, with some fake thug who looked like vanilla ice driving it at the stop light. I revved it up, and it was on. I pulled 2 cls on him by the time we got to 80, and then shut it down. I'll bet he's still confused on why he lost to a 318is...lol:buttrock
DeanP 07-08-2006, 08:21 AM Why did he lose to a 318?
M3/4 LIFE 07-08-2006, 08:30 AM ummmmm .... good kill
m3chaser 07-08-2006, 08:32 AM oh geez here we go with the flaming again. look, i will be the first to say that this seems alittle improbable......BUT I WASN'T THERE SOOO I CAN'T SAY YOU DIDN'T WIN! at least you had fun.
Lee101315 07-08-2006, 08:47 AM why did a 318is win...interesting querry people... But the answer is quite simple. You see, I did the best mod you could do to the m42 engine. I removed it... and left it in the yard...its awaiting better days... I might use it for a monster lawn mower, or a go kart engine...but not in an e36.
Heres the mod list.
OBD1 m52 engine
chip
intake
m3 cams
3.46 LSD
And of course, on the rear tires, I have 245/40/17 BFG KWD2, which are quite sticky...
I guess you can say this isnt your average 318is, but I made sure to leave the stock badge on...lol
DeanP 07-08-2006, 08:50 AM I knew there was a secret. Way to go!
sprp85 07-08-2006, 09:09 AM vanilla ice's 5.0 owns.
Lee101315 07-08-2006, 09:15 AM :lol vanilla ice's 5.0 owns.
doucy2 07-08-2006, 09:39 AM just about anything can kill a 5.0
my friend has a stock celica and the 5.0 stood no chance against here
(thats with reg tires) haha slicks are another story :)
M Roady 07-08-2006, 10:02 AM Nice kill!
phantom3 07-08-2006, 10:07 AM good kill ... old stock gt's are fairly slow , but alot of them are not stock and you never know what is in them
m3chaser 07-08-2006, 10:11 AM see now that is what i am talkin about! very nice!
mikese36 07-08-2006, 11:04 AM Nice kill!
+1
Lee101315 07-08-2006, 11:04 AM gotta love the sleepers....
I think he had an exhaust because that thing was loud. Its always satisfing to hear that V-8 rumble behind you:alright
White5 07-08-2006, 01:36 PM Those are hideous (5. slow)
Depends on wich 5.0. You raced a convertible, wich is the heaviest model. If you raced an lx notchback with full exhaust you very well could have lost. A stock lx 5.0 would be very close with a stock 328.
Buy, your cars modded. Nice kill
///M3Vader4dr 07-08-2006, 02:55 PM monster lawn mower FTW!

Thats true, the notchbacks are no joke. I just got a ride in my friends turbo notchback the other day and it was scary fast. The 5.0 I raced was pretty fast though. We kinda started from a roll, I heard his tires break loose in the middle of first gear. I havent tested my car at the track, but I would guess it was capable of a high 13/ low 14 in the 1/4.
excdragonreborn 07-10-2006, 02:37 AM I'll take that m42 and put in in my trunk, twin engine baby!
LOL
agmobb 07-10-2006, 03:46 AM There is no way a 318 beat a 5.0, stangs are teh bestest evar!!! jk. Sounds like you got a pretty fast little "318" there :buttrock
You need to make a vid of all the peoples expressions when they get there ass handed to them by what they believe is a 4cyl.

Hey, the M42 isn't a bad engine. It's just rather slow, but especially in the E36. E30 M42's ftmfw. :buttrock
(And mine came with the LSD.)
