There I am:

I’m out running some nightly errands (walmart to get some DVD's) and on the street I run into either a:

A: WRX with STI wheels
B: STI with a WRX wing
C: 2.5 RS with a turbo kit? (haha probably not)

It had atleast a TURBO back (no way he had any cats)

Anyway I noticed him but didn’t really care to much or even give him any attention. I’m getting on the freeway and I take the turn rather quickly and this must have invited him to jump up my ass when we got into the straight.

Now there was a few to many cars on the freeway for me to want to race him so I just hung back. The freeway cleared and he lined up. I drop to 4rth and punch it (he is actually about a fender in front of me), I jump a good half a car and he doesn’t even come close to catching up so... I actually shifted up to 5th gear and let off just a bit letting him catch up like 2 feet and punch it again. Now keep in mind in 5th gear at 4000 RPMS Im only at 5 pounds so I had lots more room to go.

The race wasn’t even close so I shut down at about 100 I think. Now the funny part:

3 younger guys (18-19 years old) are in the car and roll up to the window yelling all sorts of remarks

Conversation:
Subaru Kids in sort of a jerk off kinda voice: Dude man we gotta go again we were only in 4rth gear
Me: Yea so was I
Subaru Kids: SO LETS GO AGAIN
Me: No thanks, it wasn’t even close guys, good race though.

So he wanted to race again? Maybe because he was gonna squeeze on me or he just couldn’t handle losing to a stock LOOKING E36 M3

I head towards my exit. I gave him a quick pull and it was oblivious that my car was faster. I feel that if I didn’t get caught first time then I’m lucky and I shouldn’t push it.

It was probably a WRX I beat him way to easy. Ive raced two STI’s one from a dead stop and one on the freeway, I beat them both but it was a good race. Anyway I like the WRX/STI cars, very good bang for the buck and a damn fine vehicle but I didn’t like these guys attitudes at all.

REMEBER IM SUPERCHARGED 8-9 pounds with water injection and a ton of other mods.

What's important: Your car kicks ass and you took the responsible route in traffic and didn't endanger the kids from doing more than they handle in their car.

yeah it was probably a wrx. i just ran my friend's 06 wrx from a roll yesterday on the freeway from 60mph-120 and i hung almost dead even with him. he beat me by a little bit. after 120 i was at his mid car. he ran a 13.7 at the track too on a bone stock fresh off the dealer 2006 wrx.

What kind of mods do you have? Because if you car is fast as his your running a 13.7 too, which is pretty quick for a e36 325.

I'd say its a STI

supercharged m3 should be a a lot faster then a stockish sti with 3 guys in it. Many sti drivers swap the wing to a wrx one.

how bad did you beat him when you shut down?

WRX's boxer engine sounds as pleasent as scraping your fingernails across a blackboard.... oh and if you lean on them... the body dents... my friend has one its fast as shit, but the quality is uhhh horrible... that kid probably should take his "scooby" home to his parents.

Not necessarily. The WRX gets a good launch probably to achieve a 13.7, but the trap speed will be low. From a roll 60-120, completely different story.
