The speedometer also quit working. I have a friend that works at BMW which means I can get parts at a 40% discount. The problem is I don't know what parts to order to fix the problem. Does anyone know. Thanks.

It could be your front pad wear sensor. I know my DSC and ABS lights came on and off for a week or so - I had front rotors and pads replaced along with the front pad wear sensor and the lights haven't come on since.

you will need a new ABS module, and all 4 abs wheel speed sensors. you will need to code the ABS module to the vehicle.

sounds like your speedo sensor is shot... i think it's rear passenger on the e39.. i think....

I think that the driver's side rear wheel speed sensor is for the speedometer, passneger side rear wheel speed sensor is for the cruise control.
