I just put Konis and Eibachs on my E34 and am not happy at all with the rear. I plan on re-installing my old Dinan springs. The rears are progressive and the first few coils stack under static load. It seems there is not enough travel and they seem to "pogo" over big undulations. The fronts which appear to be linear are better but I would not want to run different springs front to rear. The Konis do seem much better than the Bilsteins in terms of ride quality. I have them set about 1 turn from full stiff (2.5 turns lock to lock). Anyone else have this experience?

I'm planning to put Koni's on the front with H&R's all around next week. I'l be keeping the rear sls.
Would you mind sharing you results/opinions on your D'sylva chip?
Thanks!

I went with Cheaper KYB's with Eibach springs, no complaints here. Much better than stock struts & springs
The D'Sylva chips totally rocks. Love it and I had Dinan before that.
I track my car a lot and am quite sensitive to suspension performance. The Eibach/Koni combo resulted in much less control of the chassis in transition and it just isn't as planted. I have put 170k miles on my car in 6 years so I have some experience to draw from.:)

Could you elaborate on "totally rocks"? :) Basically I'm hoping to smooth out the power band somewhat. I'd like a more of the engine's power on tap below 4k.
My mechanic was recommending the Eibachs but when I posted this to the M5board they all told me to stay the hell away from the Eibachs. Are you on that board? It has an E34 M5 specific section with plenty of very knowledgable members.

Pulls from about 3500 instead of 4000, does smooth out the power and there is no loss at high rpm. It actually feels like the tires want to break loose most of the way through second.
I go to that board on ocassion but kind of relied on this board while making the purchase. Maybe they work better with Konis.

Excellent! those are the results I've been hoping for.
I'm confused though, which might work better with koni's? The H&Rs? I'll have that setup soon so I'll let you know. Do you have the SLS still or did you delete?

Right now I have Konis up front with H&R springs. Rides great, I couldn't be happier. Rears, I just haven't had time to install them, but maybe tonight?
Edit.. Can't do the install the tonight, but here's what they look like.

Not sure about the M5, but I have had the eibach-bilstein sport combo on my car for about 1.5 months and love it. The car handles much better (than stock) and the spring rate is fine. The car also rides well, not too bumpy or stiff at all.
