Cliffs: ~2000 ford ranger ex cab pulls beside me at a light , loud FMF exhaust *Edit - just learned that apperently FMF doesnt make truck exhaust systems, lol, well we had a sticker on his truck anyway*. 0-75 sprint, his front bumper is still at my rear bumper. later on, freeway run to ~90, only pull about 1.5 cars on him. Impressive and fun run!

4th of July on my way home after a local parade, A black Ranger pulls next to me, slightly lifted and a loud exhaust (He had a FMF sticker on his rear window, so I'm just gonna go out on a limb.... :cool ) despite that i kinda grin inside, doubting a ranger will give me any sort of trouble. there are tons of trucks like this near molalla OR, and usually they are just rednecks who think that anything that isn't American a POS.

At the green we take off mildly hard, but by no means a launch. After i get to ~4k, i decided to really punch it, and to my surprise, he really didn't go anywhere, i gain maybe 1/3 car. I gain about the same all the way through 2nd, and when i shut it down at about 75, he was barely behind my bumper.

We hit some traffic, and he got stuck in the slow lane and i just kept going. 5 minutes later after i had merged onto 205N, He comes up beside me, points forward and smiles, I give him a nod and wait for him to punch it. It was pretty easy to hear when he punched it because of his exhaust, so it was a pretty even take off despite no 3 honks. I was in 3rd @ 60, and punch it. similar out come to earlier, i don't gain nearly as much as one would guess from a lifted Ford ranger with 2 other passengers and me alone in a 328is. i shut it down at the end of 3rd and only had about 1.5 cars between us. I match speed and give him a thumbs up, he shrugs with his hands up and gives me a piece sign. fun race, i was Impressed!

my dads friend used to have an old s-10 with a 383 in it.. outside it looked stock, not even nice paint. Sickenly fast.. hahahaha

Trucks can be quite fast in strait lines.

An old freind of ours from back in the day named napa john yoused to take me for rides in his truck, :stickoutt 83 chevy full size 2wd short box. It was jet black and dropped 4 inches, under the hood was a 8.1 liter big block with a roots supercharger (fit under cowled hood). Tailgate had writen in white tribal letters "WIDOW MAKER" He dynoed it once at 970 rwhp.

Anywho, we were cruising around our hickass redneck town we lived in at the time and we pulled up to an unsuspecting c4 corvette (brand new at that time) and he raps it out next to us!!! :devillook I swear to god when he revved that truck in return, the ground shook! The vette guy looks over like "WHAT HAVE I DONE!" He stands on the 3500 rpm stall and the guy in the vette looks like he is going to shit his pants :conf Light turns green and that truck just TEARS off the line! The left front tire didn't touch the ground till secound gear!!!!!!!!!! :D Needless to say that race was alittle one sided! :flaming

Nice! I'd NEVER expect a Ford ranger to be fast. I thought they all had tiny four bangers. Well, my dad has a 1970 Ranger XLT with a 360. It really isn't related to any of the newer rangers though. It certainly wasn't fast though.

some guy in my city has a twin screwed LS1 S-10...that thing is a monster. I saw him slaughter a gallardo and a 575 maranello....and barely edge out a crazily modded detomaso pantera

My Friend had an 03 ford ranger and we race all the time, they are very fast trucks. I was amazed the first time we raced because I was pulling on him just not as much as I though I would. He always complains because they are limited to 90 MPH. I read somewhere though if you get an intake exhaust and chip for them they well put down about 210 hp at the wheels. Good Race
