Do not mean to cross-post; but, realized that if anyone would know about car covers, probably you guys would (b/c of your fanaticism to cleanliness), and, maybe a vendor here could provide their input/sales link if they sell it.

Basically, I need to figure out which car to put outside for 3-5 months. I can put the beast or the beauty. People on porsche forum think bmw goes outside, hehe. :stickoutt

I bought an OEM cover from Porsche. However, it does not appear to be that good for outdoor usage. I am leaning towards shifting the beast to outside and covering it. I would like a cover that can protect it from the elements. It also needs to be a bit thicker, just in case it hails a bit ... I also would like the water to evaporate quickly (some car covers I've seen do not allow the water to vaporate and it condensates underneath on the car -- which, to me, can't be good). I am also a bit concerned about it scratching the car if I use it frequently (taking on/off) ...

Any recommendations for a car cover? Ideally, it should be a good fit, because of the wind. I know many generic covers do not have the side mirror pockets.

Should I just go with a generic fit cover, or a custom one?

Any recommendations on what to get?

TIA

I bought a Noah car cover and I really like it. Something thick helps protect the car, but it doesn't allow the water to evaporate as easily. You need to find a good balance.

Having used a generic and an oem cover on my current car, I'd suggest definitely getting a fitted cover. It fits like a glove, and I don't worry about it blowing into my neighbors yard.

I found an oem used on ebay for 56.99. I thought that was a good deal and I've been happy. Good quality and dries fairly quickly.
