Just fix the ones you have. There is not much to either and they are very easy to repair.

Well we just went ahead and bought a new set. The washer is leaking, fixed it before and broke in 8 months. Dryer works but takes extra time to dry. I think it was 400 each at sears. It's some whirlpool brand.

I have a Kennmore dryer (working) circa 1978, a Maytag washer (working) circa 1977, and a Maytag dryer (broken) circa 1977.

The broken dryer can be had by anyone who will pick it up, and the others I would let go for next to nothing.

I would keep them, but I need the garage space because all three have been displaced to the garage due to a new washer and dryer that are in the laundry room. Both are Kennmore.

or clean the lint off the blower wheel, or replace the tub seal, or make sure the door is not bent, so that it closes properly and seals, or make sure your vent isn't stopped up, and make sure your dryer hose isn't kinked behind the dryer.......:D

That was one of the excuses I used to buy it - "it saves water."
