I have some very light water spots on my hood of my Jet Black 325i. Is claying or an orbital the best technique to get them out. I shouldn't be hard to get out.

I don't know if it the best, but orbital always gets any minor water sports I have out.

Assuming you don't have a tint on the outside of the window, I've always used a little straight vinegar on the outside of windows to get water spots off. As long as you are careful to keep the vinegar off the paint I don't see any problems with this. Any other suggestions?

a liquid carnuba wax works well for me to remove the occasional hard water spot.

does it actually remove it or just hide it

edit: let me restate too...my rear window is bad. its the worst ive seen. though my paint is fine

makes it go bye bye, never to reappear again. At least if the car is waxed.

The liquid wax did the trick! Thanks for the suggestion. 45 minutes and all the water spots were out, and of course, it has a great shine now! Looks 100x better now without all thoes hard water spots (even with how "light" they looked... I'm a perfectionist so I noticed them easily)

no problem. Glad it worked out for you.

Cole: I've used eagle one 20/20 on my DSM followed by rain-x. You might give it a shot. Eagle 20/20 is a great tint safe window cleaner, will get the smoke residue, plastic residue out, but it does require a bit of elbow grease when used correctly. Rain-x pretty much keeps it from happening again, and fills?/hides? the "shadow" you see the next time the car gets wet. And if you get a spot, it's on the rain-x not the glass.

Any way glad to be of service. I'll probably try the vinegar trick for windows one of these days... that's a new one to me.
