Door jams and engine bay too? Probably 6-8k. More towards 8k I would think. I paid 4500 to get mine repainted the same color. busterhax 06-30-2006, 08:12 PM hrm how bout door jams, but not engine bay? and how bout neither?(if i did this id get it redone same color) sorry for the questions, i dont know much about spray pricing MBe36 06-30-2006, 10:21 PM Boston green is a sick color!!! busterhax 06-30-2006, 10:23 PM yeah, when its cleaned up and in the sun its hot. since door jams would cost so much i think im just gonna get it resprayed boston green. i scratched my hood today that pissed me off so much. anyone have any idea what just a fresh outer coat would cost to have done? paul e 07-01-2006, 05:28 PM lolz. What kind of job can you get for 4500? busterhax 07-01-2006, 05:52 PM I paid 4500 to get mine repainted the same color.just for an outer coat? swmnbmw 07-01-2006, 07:10 PM you can go to macco and get one for like 500 bucks.....hahah but i wouldnt go for that one busterhax 07-01-2006, 07:16 PM why not? 4500 RPM 07-01-2006, 08:39 PM why not? Do you know anything about paint quality? MAACO paint will look like utter shit, chip, be orange peeled like crazy, etc. etc. and will last probably a year. You can get your problem areas touched up or repsprayed. A much better option. Learn how to really detail, and maybe pick up a Langka kit. Ive had friends get a MAACO paintjob (cars not worth a $6k paint bill) and it actually isnt that bad. Im not suggesting it whatsoever, Im just saying give them some credit. If you get there best quality (for like $1500), it really looks normal. With that said, you are probably looking at $6-$8k for color change for a professional paint job. Id stick with boston green, so they dont have to redo everything. busterhax 07-01-2006, 11:05 PM i might buy some boston green paint and get the auto body teacher at my school to do it for me paul e 07-04-2006, 02:01 PM if youre freshening a black M3, and willing to leave doorjams, sills, under hood and trunk lids, etc alone, can you get the surfaces resprayed and cleared with something like the quality of Glasurit or better with a job that will look near new when its done for 5 grand? aceves 07-04-2006, 06:33 PM I did a color change on my car from green to black. I had the interior removed, engine, all of the glass and moldings. It's a lot of work stick to the same color. |
